spmkde Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Hi, I came across an interesting inner child spread (@ https://curiousthings.org/therapy-blog/tarot-as-therapy scroll down almost all the way), but it doesn't say, in which order the cards should be drawn. I mailed the author, but didn't yet hear from her yet, so I am asking here. Does it matter in which order the cards are drawn? Or is it simply more important to focus on the meaning of the position (for which the card is drawn)?
DanielJUK Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago You can use a spread however works best for you but the "regular" way is that you shuffle the deck up and take random cards. The page says to make an intention (or I guess, think of a question), pick a spread and then shuffle the cards and deal in the positions. We all have our own shuffle methods, so just choose what works out for you. There is a nice discussion about shuffling from the past on the forum here..... There is a nice guide to the different techniques here....
spmkde Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago Thank you for taking the time to answer. The shuffle threads are interesting. What I was referring to with my initial question though is the sequence in which the drawn cards are laid out. Usually spreads come with numbers (1, 2, 3, ....) so that you know in which order to put them on the table. The mentioned spread only has short descriptions. Hope this makes more sense now (not a native speaker).
spmkde Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago To answer myself. I went ahead and drew the cards in not a specific order. Instead, I just picked each card position of the spread and focussed on the description of this position as I shuffled and drew the card. The result seems harmonious.
