Ix Chel Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 55. 'Sometimes it's necessary to break the rules in order to get great results.' Which member of the Court is most likely to say this? It is not someone from the Swords or Pentacles Court, because they act conform the rules and regulations. Probably someone from the Wands court, I go for the Knight of Wands, because he likes action and adventure. And to me he is a person who breaks the rules.
EmpyreanKnight Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 I think that the aggressive Knight of Swords will go after victory whatever happens.
Starlight Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Well, I think any of the courts, given the right impetus, would probably break rules. As to who's more likely... hmmm.... I think perhaps Swords would break rules the most, esp if it makes perfect logical sense to do it. Great results is a perfectly logical justification for breaking rules. The Knight is my first choice.
Jewel Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 I think the Queen of Wands would say and do that ... she would then proceed to charm her way out of any trouble caused by breaking them.
Cobweb Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Knight of Wands for me. He's got the self-confidence/arrogance required to ignore the rules when he thinks it's necessary - he's also got the drive and the energy to smash through barriers. I don't think any of the Swords would break the rules. They believe in the rule of law. They will follow the rules even if it costs them to do so. I think of a judge who has to carefully apply the law, even if the outcome is not what he or she might personally desire. No one is above the law.
Ratty Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Page of Cups might do it for love: the grand stupid gesture. For him it would be an excuse after the fact. But the most likely culprits are the Page and Queen of Wands. The Page of Swords might think it, he might even do it, but he'd never say it. None of the other court swords ever need to break the rules, much less admit to it. The King writes the rules and can rewrite them. The Queen arbitrates the rules, so that's an inbuilt not-guilty verdict. The Knight knows every rule ever written, every precedent. If a rule won't suit, he knows a thousand others that will. The only reason the Knight of Wands wouldn't say it is the word "sometimes". He doesn't mince words. The King of Wands acknowledges no rules.
Guest Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I think the main objective here is not just to break the rules and garner great results, but to escape any punishment for doing so. For me, the machiavellian Queen of Swords will 100% fit the bill, although she most likely won't literally say it!
