rusticblonde Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 For me it depends on the person and the energy. I usually get vibes haha!
Venus Rising Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Generally, if they have good vibes, I'm ok with it. If they have really bad energy, or I just instinctively think 'no' then I don't allow it. :)) Depends on the deck, too. My most precious decks are only touched by those that I trust.
Grizabella Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 I'd only allow my two daughters and possibly two of my grand-daughters use them, but would hesitate to let anyone take them from me on loan. I have no way to replace decks if I lose them and although I know they have respect for the cards, things can happen sometimes when you're young or have a very busy private life where things can "disappear" or be damaged. Basically, bottom line is I'd probably prefer not to loan my decks. I moved to another state from most of my family in Oregon and live with one of my daughters. She's interested in Tarot but isn't interested enough right now to spend much time with the cards. She's busy with other things.
Libra 58 Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Yes, but only people I trust! At the moment it's only 2 of them!
ReginaFaythe Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 No. I have allowed a few people to handle the decks to browse the art - but I "reset" them afterward and store them for several hours with a rose quartz. I don't let anyone actually USE them though.
Star Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 If I'm performing a one on one reading I let the querent pick their cards and shuffle all they want. I don't believe the cards will work in any manner they are not supposed to if different people touch them. I used to cleanse my cards religiously but it doesn't seem necessary anymore.
Court de Gébelin Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 I allow a querent to handle the cards because I think a reading involves the spiritual energy of both the reader and the querent. I do not allow uninvolved people to handle my cards. I would never loan my cards out to anyone. Now, "my cards" means the one, or possibly two, decks with which I'm currently working. If I had an unused, neglected deck stowed away somewhere, I would have no qualms about passing that deck on to someone else, or accepting such a deck from another person.
