Generally the majors I identify with most are The Fool and The Hermit, but it does depend a bit on the deck--sometimes the majors I'll identify most with will be The Moon, Death or The Hanged Man instead.

I guess, for example:

Royo Dark Mini -- The Fool (eta: definitely aspiring towards The Magician in this deck!♡)

Kiki Lala -- The Hermit, The Moon, The Empress (I think this is the only deck I've felt that particular connection to The Empress with, though)

Starchild Akashic -- Perspective (XII), Serenity (IX) (on the path towards XX Awakening and XXI The Universe)

Universal Fantasy -- Death

Occasionally I think of myself relating to The Magician, especially relating to the Royo Dark Mini, but then I laugh at myself because like, no. As much as I'd like to be I just haven't reached that point of self-discipline yet. (Decks where I has been remade as The Witch... I wish I could get my hands on one of them to study that card properly because the first one I saw that did that I was like YESME, but I usually don't connect with the rest of the deck well enough to buy any of them. Hrmmm.)

Favourite Hermit card at the moment...?  I don't own the Dark Days tarot (but wish I did!  ;D ).  This links to its hermit card.  https://www.darkdaystarot.com/single-post/2017/08/08/The-Hermit---Major-Arcana-Card-9

I'm really enjoying the excuse to browse through decks this morning.  The Mary-el is now on my wish-list too.  it's Hermit is pretty interesting too...

That's a very interesting card, Cobweb! Love the way the body is emerging from the button shell. I agree, the Mary-El Hermit is different, blue amidst white crested waves, or in the sky amidst curling clouds, the air and wind blowing through the open mouth (?). There are some extraordinary cards in that deck.

This is such and interesting question and one I keep changing my mind on! My first thought was that I'm more like the Hermit but I have had other archetypes predominate at other times - especially the Empress and Hierophant.

Reflecting more, I think I would settle on the High Priestess as being my core - it's the link to the subconscious, dreams and intuition to find deeper awareness I think. She is secluded like the Hermit but is not obviously acting as a guide - no bright lamp for others to follow - she is veiled. I think this is more accurate for me - I don't act like a guide for others to follow.

This image from the Greenwood is very fitting. The way she 'wears' her animal guide is what happens to me in my shamanic work.

Ooo just wait till you see the Devil card!! That one is definitely my favourite devil ever, so beautiful and deceptive and cunning and... oh crap I’m starting to go off on a lyric waxing tangent lol!

Well someone had to mention The Devil!  I think The Devil card epitomizes me the best because of my past and the abilities that lie within me.  Yes the card has very negative connotations but so has my past but it was my past and the lessons I learned that have made me who I am today. So, please allow me to introduce myself...

Please click on the images for the full size! ;)

This first picture is how I see myself as the Devil.  This is not a tarot card, just a drawing I like.

Marylin Manson drew this image and I've always been a huge fan of Marylin.  I think this is an awesome Devil card.

And finally from the Daemon Tarot.  I have this deck and use it as a warning deck in readings with clients who are not afraid to go where these cards go.  It's a fascinating deck and have very powerful meanings that are useful in readings especially to caution people.

Quite some portrayals of the Devil in these cards, Saturn! Of all of them, I can see how the first one is most representative of you in your introduction. :D

Oh, the Hermit. Or, the HP...or the Hermit...or...both?

Any particular Hermit. Canid? (HP?)

Do you mean which deck(s)? I don’t think I’ve ever met a Hermit or High Priestess card that I didn’t like.

Posted

My favorite is The Emperor but that's a tall order as of now. I'm neither that mature nor that wise. Currently, I relate best to the Strength card. Particularly those cards in the Renaissance or Archeon #swolegoals #mirin #pumped

The truly wise don’t consider themselves wise.

Yes, the H and HP card from the deck(s) that you feel best represent you.

I'm so enjoying meeting everyone through their archetypes. :D

It's interesting how many of us find that the Hermit, the Fool, Death and the Hanged Man (for me, Mary-El's Hangman is superb and relevant) exemplify us well.

My best guess is it's because so many of us are using the tarot for insight. The more I think about what cards represent me the more I see a thread between these ones that some of the other cards don't necessarily have, and I think that thread is why for me my choice varies based on the deck.

I think this is the epitome of the Devil and what he brings to the tarot.

That card calls me. So much. *awe*(ʘдʘ✿) What deck is it from? (I like quite a few of the other ones you've linked as well!) There have been a couple Devil cards I've strongly connected to, but they were from decks that were decidedly not RWS clones so the meanings weren't quite typical... I wonder if I can find them again to link them here. The artwork was gorgeous.

It's from the Equinox Tarot.  I updated my OP and posted what deck these cards come from.  There was one card I couldn't find, the Baron Samedi card.  Please note, I don't own these decks myself, I just googled Devil cards. ;)

I probably shouldn’t but I can’t help myself (probably the influence of this particular devil!)

Here’s an excerpt of the description that describes where the inspiration came from...

“Lucifer was among God's very own cherished, known as one of the most beautiful and bright angels of his flock. Similarly, this card also features a nod to Islam's embodiment of evil; Shaytan/Iblis, who was said to "whisper into the hearts" of mankind to coax them into evil. Both figures started as beloved members of heaven, eventually turning against their creators out of hubris and pride, which leads me to one of my most nuanced understandings of evil”

There’s a lot more to the description of this card that’s really interesting and enlightening. Arthur talks about the insidious nature of the Devil and how easy it is to fall prey to her, but I will let you discover all of that when you finally get the deck :D

Ha! I love being an enabler when I comes to this deck lol

And you’re welcome to call me Fee :) I quite like if actually :D

An interesting idea for a thread! I've always associated myself with The Hermit since I'm a virgo sun and kind of a shut-in who likes my own company and reading/researching, but most of the time I don't find anything more interesting than knots in my hair because I forgot to brush it for some days... I have a bad habit of just putting it all up in a bun when I wake up!

I've come to kind of like The Moon as well, with its many mysteries, uncertainties and weirdness. Some of it might be because I'm a night owl but I've always been fascinated by  the mystical and hidden. I've also struggled with some things that I think are commonly associated with the moon, but I've learnt to live with it.

Hermit and Moon again.  <3 Seems like most of us like to walk in moonlight and are denizens of the mysterious, veiled world.

HP for me

I’m someone who’s very intuitive that remains secretive and mysterious both online and IRL. I have the point of view where I can see both the negative and positive in things in life as I’m an black n white individual. I particularly hate being in the spotlight but many seek my advice and knowledge for guidance.

That's the HP for sure. :D Any particular HP from a specific deck you identify with more?

I wanted to say Temperance (mostly due to being non-binary) but I feel like that card is more what I strive for and hope to embody one day. I think the card that describes me best is in fact Strength: Learning to use gentle instead of overt force, overcoming trauma, and re-learning how to love and let myself be loved.

Strength was also a card I thought much about, for many of the same reasons. Learning not to lash out and instead understand what's behind it all so I can help the inner scared beast.
