Does this seem successful. Does it mean he wouldn’t really love me?

Hello I did a three card spread asking What kind of relationship we would have (we are not in one but have been talking a few months). I did it so the first card represented my feelings, second card represented his feelings and third was our overall outcome. So 1.the emperor(my feelings) 2. Sun reversed (him) and 3.king of cups(outcome).what I interpreted was: It seems for me I would definately would maybe want to progress in the relationship, maybe in some ways try to control the relationship? I mean he is very independent and I’m slightly codependent(not much) and also I know he was hurt long ago and I can tell he’s afraid of relationships so he says he’s not really ready for commitment. But something just makes me want to see where this goes. Like a magnet to a refrigerator. For his sub reverse I’ve heard a mix of things. That it’s bad but not bad. Because the sun is powerful. It could be content but maybe not as much as he thought? Or that maybe he wouldn’t like me? But then the outcome seem relatively positive based off my research. Positive for romance. Harmonious lovers. So I was confused cause I’m like but does sun reversed not mean lack of interest? Overall what do you make of this?? How do you interpret this?

I'd say that the emperor represents your feelings about him. That you might view him as an emperor-type and that this could be something that you would find attractive about him. If you are, like you say, a tiny bit codependent then maybe his (perceived) emperor-traits will appeal to you.

The Sun reversed signals that he is either blocked or deliberately holding back (as in not wanting to lead you on and therefore keeping his charms and 'shine' to himself)

 

There are several ways in which one could interpret the King of Cups as the outcome in all of this, but I am inclined to think that it represents a relationship that will in many ways be centered around his feelings (and well, his emotional 'baggage' so to speak). Generally speaking, if someone is saying that they don't feel ready for a relationship because they have been hurt in the past, then that is a good sign to just wait.

 

I totally get that you are seriously interested in this guy and I am certainly not saying that there is no future for the two of you - absolutely not! But, trying to push forward when you know that things aren't ideal... maybe that is cheating the both of you from having the best possible starting point for a relationship? If he is indeed a 'King of cups' type, but has some blocked sun energies in him, then there is potential for you guys to talk things through and perhaps, in time, he will feel ready to share his sunshine with you  <3

I could definitely see how it would be centered around him because I’m more of a green light and he’s like at a yellow light. So he’s determining much of the direction this relationship goes. I have done a few readings and they all say that he is not ready for a committed relationship for many reasons. One being his insecurities but also him wanting to be financially stable. It’s so weird because we connect so crazy well but I guess it’s not worth the try on his end. I’m not gonna wait around forever! But I was just so hopeful for this. I agree that if he was mentally there we would be in a better position. So maybe this could mean that our paths could cross in a future time once again but maybe as lovers this time.
