Arabella Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Anyone else have a deck with a sense of humour? I was having a particularly bad start to the day so asked my cards what I should I know about the day ahead. I drew one card. Knight of pentacles. Yeah, ok, steady steady, my day needs some patience and caution. Yeah yeah! Then, feeling a bit fed up, I ask the cards to show me something to cheer me up. I shuffle again and pull one card. The Knight of Pentacles. Thanks a lot. ;) ;D Very funny!!!

I don't have a specific deck that is funny but I've had many decks that have shown their funny side! It's good you're really getting tuned in to your deck and feeling the humor it's sending you. Sounds like it cheered you up too! ^-^
Bookworm Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Yes, Arabella, I know exactly what you mean. I can't think of a specific example right at the moment, but I love when that happens.
sandrang123 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I definitely think decks have personalities! My Everyday Witch is so cheeky and has a wonderful sense of humor. Decks like Cat People, though, tend to be super serious for me. Welcome to the forum!
TheFeeLion Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I love it when decks show their sense of humour :D my Golden Universal tends to be a bit of a sarcastic smart ass and my Shadowscapes is more gently funny. As for my Froud’s Faeries... that one is definitely a comedian! I haven’t experienced my Thoth’s sense of humour yet but I suspect it’s quite dry and will require me to know the deck well before I’m able to understand it!
Emilija Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Decks definitely have ways to get their points across. Sometimes the same card will show up twice or more, definitely pay attention to that! ;)
Aquarius Lady Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 OK, I'm new here, but this thread PROVES that you are my kind of people. LOOOOL!!!!! :) I definitely know for a fact that every deck has its own personality. It depends on the user to bring out that energy and let that personality come out of the cards. They are always trying to tell us even more than we're asking. They can be hilarious at times or scary. Your own energy is what activates the energy in the cards. I'm a firm believe in this. I've had several decks that the moment I touched them, I felt vibrations.
Birdie Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 The Dream Oracle Cards. This is a deck that I love because it's always so clear to read and accurate for me. Warning, this story might be TMI. So I was really into my journaling and had been sitting, drinking tea, for quite some time. I had to use the loo but didn't really want to get up just yet. So I decided to do a little oracle card pull to end off my "me-time" session. I asked, "What do I need to focus on next?" Well in this deck there is a "Bathroom" card, and lo and behold that's the one that came up. It's the one and only time I have ever drawn that card, lol.
EmpyreanKnight Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Yup, my cards can get a bit sassy, especially if I keep asking the same question. Like when I'm anxious about an event and read about it, I'd usually draw a pretty good card for it. But then later when I'd like more reassurance and read on it again, my deck would roll its metaphorical eyes and pop out a Tower for me.
TheFeeLion Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 So I’ve just been given a new 2nd hand deck as a birthday present, it’s Oracle of the Waters. Not my usual type of deck but it’s growing on me rather quickly. I decided to do a quick interview with it to get a bit of a feel for it on Monday night (it’s Wednesday now for me) and it seemed a bit sad and low energy. So I put it with some of my crystals to give it a cleanse and try and recharge it a bit. Well it must have done the trick because I’ve just done the same interview spread again (I’ve completely forgotten what the original cards were!) and whoa! This deck has plenty of sass lol! The first card position was “who are you?” I got The Haughty Mermaid! My first impression was of her saying “we’re really going through this again?? Oh well, if we must...” And then I got a little half smile and a wink. Ha! The 2nd card “who am I?” was Manta Ray Mermaid, the description for this is “A mermaid with a twisted tail leads a group of majestic manta rays through a startling blue sea. She is wise enough to trust and befriend the intelligent creatures in spite of their legendary reputation for ferocity.” Bahahahaha! Apparently I’m the mermaid with the twisted tail and the deck is the “intelligent” and “majestic manta ray” LMAO!
Court de Gébelin Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 In the last reading I did, the querent told me she was considering making a significant change in her life. She didn't tell me what it was. The first card down (the significator in my spread) was the Wheel of Fortune. I had to chuckle about that!
