Generally speaking however, I feel that the five of cups may represent a relationship that wasn't the best, and that it is influencing the two of swords' decision. The person may be blind to a good relationship opportunity because he or she is hung up on the sorrow from the last one.

So if someone asked what person X feels - ah...I do not see there any hope (but it can be only my pesimistic point of view). 5 cups-sadness, emotional emptiness . Things are in totally different way than a querent hoped for. Things are not over, but there is some emotional loss. 2 swords-as you can see, a person who crossed her arms in front of her heart. It means that this person does not want to accept emotions nor to "see" them. I think that the person who feels 5 of cups and 2 of swords,lost something and he does not want to see that it is not a final loss. Becuase in 5 of cups, there are still 2 cups upright. I do not know if this person went through some row or any other unpleasant scenes, but he locked his heart and does not want to see anything else, no solutions, no excuses, no new ways. I want to know if he has any feelings for me. I know he’s not planning to be with me, neither do I. Maybe feeling he made a mistake but the thing about this card is that it was probably the right thing to do, he just can't handle the emotions currently. By right thing to do, I mean it might put you both in a better place and to meet people where it's better if it's not going to work out between you both. With the Two of Swords, he is in two minds about this, should he get back together with you or leave it as it is with horrible emotions? This shows really conflicted emotions but it doesn't mean you should get back together because there might be reasons this happened that must be dealt with. I don’t expect to be with him cause there are too many obstacles. Though I have confidence that I could overcome them but if only one person (me) wants to overcome and the other person doesn’t, it’s no use. Since he’s living in another country, I just want to be friends or exchange emails sometimes. I have told him my feelings, but he doesn’t tell me mine, he doesn’t make things clear. So I wonder how he feels, wonder if he has feelings for me, and that’s already enough for me. Is it possible that he would tell me how he feels? But there are a few cups upright, he might regret the break up but it's probably for the best. You can really see what I was saying about the 2 of Swords in that picture, the person is trying to hide their emotions, almost like meditate to not give anything away. So he is trying to not let you know how he is feeling so you don't know his upset. The Queen of Pentacles (upright) is a Queen who is like the Earth Mother, she loves her garden and her house and her family, these are the most important things to her. She balances financial security with compassion. But she would never put her work or career before her family or home, that is very important about her. But this card is reversed and the work / home / life imbalance has gone crazy. He is putting work / career first before anything, maybe this is why it didn't work out for you both or why he is not really keeping in contact. He doesn't have time for you because he is consumed by work, maybe this is deliberate (he is trying to escape from the pain and trying to keep his thoughts and emotions from spilling out). I see it as a time management balance problem, he has forgotten his friends, his family, his home and just working hard for security and money.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Queen of Pentacles reversed: Instability, a sense or feeling of not belonging within the/your current situation whether that be a situation, at home, at work, etc. Not having roots down regarding or your/the ideal foundation established. Reversed cards, for me, show lack...elements of the main qualities of the card, when upright, is completely missing so with the QoS, all of her qualities: stability, happy home environment, feeling in control, having your "ducks in a row", having everything you want/need for happiness (whatever that is for you/the person) isn't there.

The querent is trying to decide whether to stay with a relationship, or move on to another one. These cards by themselves don't tell me why this is happening.
