RavenOfSummer Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I first stumbled across this artist, Claudia Olivios, on Etsy, and have been following her progress as she worked towards launching a Kickstarter for her deck. The Kickstarter just launched yesterday. I think the art is gorgeous!

It seems very far away given that it seems like the majority of the work is done. I wonder if it could be a mistake? I've been in touch with the artist a few times, so maybe I'll write and ask her. If I get an update I'll share here :)

RavenOfSummer Posted July 17, 2017 Author Posted July 17, 2017 Ok, heard back from the artist, and this is what she said: The date is August 2018 because I still have to write the Guidebook and also, because I feel this should be a 35 card deck... so I am hoping we meet the stretch goals, which would meant more painting for me! We will know more once the Kickstarter ends.... part of the fun though, will be to journey together while I paint the other 5! So it sounds like, for one thing, the deck is currently 30 cards, but if she hits the right stretch goal she will turn it into a 35 card deck, and it will take time to complete the 5 additional paintings. Plus regardless of stretch goals, she still has to write the guidebook. So I guess it will take a while unfortunately. On the plus side, I like that she's being realistic and the time it will take...I would prefer that to having things pushed back when I'm expecting something earlier. I backed it for $15. Hoping it will make its goal :)

MoonGypsy Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Woot! ;D i am thrilled to see that there has been a lot of increase in backers in the last couple of days, $5,010 pledged of $6,000 goal with 9 days to go! So i am now very hopeful that they will reach their goal. It would really extra great if they could meet one of their stretch goals! ETA:"Production update: 1. The Deluxe Altar is almost finished. We will do a Kickstarter Live Sunday at 5pm to show you... 2. We are making the legs on the Classic Altar FOLDABLE (!) for easy transport/lower shipping fees. 3. I have been spending time in deep meditation with the Goddess and I have felt overwhelming emotion as I feel Her presence guide me into clearer meanings for each card. I so look forward to spending 100% of my time focusing on this project after this fundraising campaign is completed, I know the messages She will guide me towards for the guidebook will awaken and inspire you! According to the creator "the most renowned publishing house for decks"...not sure who that is...Llewellyn? US Games? In any case, I think those of us who pledged during the Kickstarter will be getting a limited edition version of the deck, and there will then be a mass market version, probably not until 2019 for the latter. So for anyone who missed the Kickstarter, it looks like you'll be able to get a mass market version some time in the not too distant future!

I agree, it is a perfect choice :D And it also sounds like Kickstarter backers may start getting their decks in June rather than August! :)
