hierophant Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I did a reading today, a love reading. And I got queen of cups, page of cups, king of cups, the devil in the same reading. I also got temperence and seven pentacles as the result. I don't know why, but I got a really strong feeling that the sitter is an alcholic, or addicted to something (dating? men?). I find this a bit troubling, actually. What do I say? Do I ask? Is it something one mentions? Anyone else ever got this feeling? What do you say?
The Sibyl Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 My interpretation of that reading would be that your querent spends too much time waiting for all those Pages of Cups to become Kings (With the Temperance and the Seven of Pentacles) while tying themselves down to a situation that is unlikely to take them anywhere (Devil). However, if you have this strong feeling, my personal approach is as follows: Not everything you see in a reading is meant to be disclosed at all costs. You may want to drop a hint, but if your querent was asking about love, you might want to stick to the question.

Thank you so much for your interpretation <3 I asked the sitter, do you want to know everything, even the unpleasant things? The answer was yes. It appears that a sexaddiction was the root of the problem in finding love. This was confirmed by the sitter.
DanielJUK Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 There is a lot of questions to be thought about regarding should you say something, this is really a case by case basis. Does saying you can see this in the reading benefit the sitter? I mean if they want to know why someone has behaved as they have done, you should talk about it! Also if it's a third party (not the sitter) they have a right to privacy unless it really affects the sitter. Also it depends how you say it to them, I am with Sibyl that you can hint it. This is much easier to do if you are doing a reading with someone in person or maybe by email / messenger / chat, where there is conversation going between you quickly, you can hint it, "maybe he is having difficulties in his life that he is finding it hard to cope with" and see what their response is, they may say, oh he is addicted to that thing, I know this. This is much harder to hint if you are doing email or readings here with a lot of text and waiting for a response, it's easier with a reading flowing between two parties. You have to do what you think is right but I would look if the reading calls for you to reveal that info or not, you can often give a reading warning about the person without even revealing that. If they are not in a place to offer love back to someone, you can say that without going into all the detail, they may not be in the right mind for love right now, for example.
hierophant Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 I totally agree not everything should be said. I told this particular person to pm me if they wanted more in depth info. So I asked do you want everything. I had suspected alcoholism/addiction. So asked if there was something the sitter was very much fond of or obsessed with. The sitter then revealed the sexaddiction. And I do understand how this could have an effect on their love life. In another reading I saw some disaster in the near future, but didn't say anything. The next day the sitter broke her arm! :'(
