hierophant Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I did a reading for someone today, and got all four kings in the spread. It was a reading about a spesific love interest, and both the sitter and her love interest are very young, so it baffled me a bit. I was like "so many MEN". But I doubt she has four potential love interest. King of pentacles was placed in her past, king of wands on the position for "this will help you", and the result was king of swords flanked by king of cups and the high priestess. I just get the feeling there's something she doesn't know about her situation yet The court cards are tricky. I'm not necessarily looking for an answer on this particular spread, but maybe some of you have some thoughts about spreads with a lot of court cards? It must mean something other than many people sometimes?
ToadieOdie Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Court cards don't always mean individual people. It can also mean actions or behaviors in someone. It can also represent aspects within a person. It really comes down to the full dynamic of the spread, what the question is, and what your intuition is telling you as to what those court cards are. So you could very easily have a spread with multiple court cards all be about one person showing various facets or timelines or what have you about that person depending on what the spread and question was.

Thank you, yes. Of course not always different people. I find these the most difficult to deal with, so I guess I just get intimidated with a spread when so many show up.

Marisa Kirisame Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 If the querent didn't draw flash royale or 4 aces, the money is yours! Ask for context, it can help you narrow down the significator among the aspects and qualities.
Empress1277 Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Sometimes when I deal way too many court cards to manage in a reading I will also draw a few clarification cards to gain some further insight. I am also from the perspective that the courts do not necessarily indicate people, but rather characteristics of the card’s elements. But when in doubt, there really isn’t anything wrong with doing another reading and asking the deck to clarify for you what their answer is. I have had to do that as well lol
~D~ Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 So if your doing a reading usually larger than 3 cards and you get : *2 Kings of any suit: might be a conference *2 Queens facing each other: gossip *2 Knights: a fight *2 Pages: Playful pastimes
DanielJUK Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 sometimes they can all be people in someone's life, like one King is the jealous ex boyfriend, one is the future love and one is her brother, for example. But you can have court cards as different people and some not be real people, for example in the position "this will help you", that is how they should act, the qualities of the King of Wands. Court Cards are notoriously difficult, always take the qualities or archetype of the card, they can represent a situation, an archetype you should try to become, a real person or a message. You just have to work out how they fit in that position.
