Rituals and Practices

I have read some rituals that Sklyarova herself seems to have suggested when using the deck. They're mighty strange tbh. Here's the original text in Russian:

I'll post a (rough) translation later.

I translated it. If that doesn't add mystique to it I don't know what does:

"ATTENTION!"

When carrying out the cards with a deck of Tarot Shadows, the Master MUST obey these rules!

1.The clothes of the Master must be Black. Without buttons, buckles, belts.

2. No jewelry, especially crosses, should not be on the Master.

3. The table must be covered with a black cloth.

4. Move the deck of the cache should with your left hand.

5. The master should outline a circle around him. It is possible - through the air.

6. Use two black candles if the layout is after 12:00 noon.

7.After carrying out the layout, you should sprinkle the room with holy water. But before the session of holy water should not be in the immediate vicinity of the Master and even in the room.

We are dealing with an infernal world. The entities will not be "shown" by persons in the presence of means of defense in the session.

8. When working with two parallel decks, use the same precautions.

9.If during the seance sessions, the Master or the client experiences a feeling of fear, "goosebumps" on the skin or hears voices - stop the session immediately with the words "Have succeeded! Have succeeded!"

10.After each reading session, the Arcana of the Black Taro "clean", carrying the information side over the fire of a black candle. Candles to extinguish only with a special cap, in no event from blow out. Candles are stored wrapped in a black cloth next to the deck.

11. To distinguish yourself with the sign of the cross during the sessions is impossible! "

You're so diligent! What did you use to translate it?

I ran it through Google Translate and this is what it came up with:

WARNING: When carrying out the layout of the Tarot Shadow deck, the Master MUST obey these rules!"

1. The clothes of the Master must be Black, without buttons, buckles, belts.

2. No jewelry, especially crosses, on the master

3. The table must be covered with a black cloth

4. Move the deck of the clit with the left hand.

11. It's impossible to distinguish yourself as a sign of the cross during the sessions! "

How does this work for you? It turns out that if we do not observe all these rules, the Entities do not" show "the faces and all the layouts and forecasts are not accurate, and frankly speaking, they are not true ?

Thanks a lot for your translation, pox. At least we don't have to stick to only one.

I tried to integrate the two and smooth out the edges to come up with a somewhat more polished translation. Here it is:

WARNING!

When laying out the cards of the Tarot of Shadows in a spread, the Master MUST obey these rules!:

1. The clothes of the Master must be Black, without any buttons, buckles, or belts.

2. No jewelry should be on the master's person, especially crosses.

3. The table must be covered with black cloth.

4. Use only your left hand to move the deck of cards.

5. The master should outline a circle around him. Drawing this through the air should suffice.

6. Use two black candles if the reading is performed after 12:00 noon.

7. Upon finishing the reading, you should sprinkle the room with holy water. But before the session, the flask of holy water should not be in the immediate vicinity of the Master, not even in the room where the reading is performed.

We are dealing with an infernal world. The entities will not come if defenses against them are present in the session.

8. When working with two parallel decks, use the same precautions.

9. If during the seance/reading sessions, the Master or the client experiences a feeling of fear, gets goosebumps or hears voices - stop the session immediately with the words "Udalis! Udalis!" or "I succeeded! I succeeded!"

10. After each reading session, clean the Arcana of the Black Tarot by passing the face of the cards over the fire of a black candle. The candles should only be extinguished with a special cap - in no event should one blow them out. They should be wrapped in a black cloth and stored next to the deck.

11. You must not make the sign of the cross during these sessions!

I ran it through google translation using Russian as the language and that's exactly what it gave me.

I've been thinking about the conditions of the ritual.

1. Black clothes, no problem. I have black jeans but they have a button.

2. I usually wear my Terra de Fatima soil relic with an 1803 medal, but can take that off. Probably not appropriate to be wearing doing that anyway. That's the only jewelry I ever wear.

The parts about black cloth and candles I'd have to purchase specifically. My nephew, who is a Lutheran Minister happens to be in town now and I could ask him to bless some Holy Water. I'm mad at him though and already thought about showing him the deck.

I have a Crucifix collection of 11, a rosary and some medals, enough crosses strategically hung and placed at each entry way to keep out an army of vampires. I especially like the German with Ebony and the skull and crossbones representing Adam. On the wall behind my bed, too. I'll have to think about whether or not I take them down.

It's a conundrum of sorts. I have all those religious icons but am perfectly comfortable with this deck, so far anyway.

I don't think you'd have to worry, pox. I've just been hanging out around some Russian Tarot forums, and it seems like there are some readers who use the deck a lot but who don't follow the rituals. It still worked well with them, there were no unpleasant repercussions, tho a few rebut them and say that it's best to adhere to the instructions. I'm thinking that maybe one should follow them if one thinks it would make their readings more potent. Going to have to read more.

Your google translation of these flavour rules is not accurate. I'll write the better one in a bit.

These might be a pain to follow, but they do add atmosphere and immersion. Maybe you'll contact actual infernal beings like that.

Thanks a bunch for the help, Marisa! I knew there are Russians (or Russian speakers) hereabouts, swimming in these steamy waters. ^-^

"ATTENTION!"

When doing spreads with a Shadow Tarot deck, the Master MUST obey the following rules:

1. Master's clothing must be of a black color, without belts, buckles or buttons.

2. There mustn't be any jewelry or other decorations, especially crosses, on the Master.

3. The table must be covered with a black cloth.

4. The querent must only cut the deck with their left hand.

5. The Master must draw a circle around himself. You can draw it in the air.

6. If you do the spread after midnight, two black candles must be lit.

7. When you finish doing the spreads, you must sprinkle the room with holy water; however, before and in the process of reading, no holy water is allowed in the immediate vicinity of the Master - or even in the room itself. We're dealing with the infernal world, and it's beings would not show themselves when such protective measures are used at the session.

(TL note: lol, repellents!)

8. Same precautions should be used when working with two decks in parallel.

9. If at any time of the session, either the Master or the querent begin to feel frightened, sense goosebumps on their skin or start hearing voices, the session must be stopped immediately while saying: "Go away! Go away! Go away!" (TL note: alternative translation, if you wish: "Begone! Begone! Begone!")

10. After every divination session, the arcana of Shadow Tarot must be "cleansed" by passing the face of the cards over the flame of the black candle. The candle must only be extinguished with a special cap - under no circumstances should they be blown out! The candles must be stored near the deck, wrapped in the black cloth.

11. At the session, crossing yourself is strictly forbidden!

Oh, I see that we had some problems with the translation of 4, 6, 7, & 9. Strict adherence to the rituals is very important tho, so kudos for the accurate translation, Marisa. :)
