A Brief Introduction

Hey guys, Raven here. I want to keep this brief and at the least informative about what drew me to Tarot in the first place and what I'm even in this forum for...at 7 am in the morning. I first came across tarot as a young child, having seen my father read periodically as a telephone psychic.

I ended up forgetting about it as life happen and I would up a ward of the state. In my early teens, I recall chancing upon cartomancy, my first real look into divination and as it was hard for me to contemplate I just gave up. Not saying I didn't try but after a few months of studying, I could never recall the information to even do a simple 3 card spread. Fast forward to my young adult years and I end up reconnecting with my dad and lo and behold, he still read! His readings were ethereal, charismatic, and so in-depth he had unintentionally lit the spark back that I had been missing all of those years. That was 5 years ago. I've been reading successfully in various amino communities but I am looking for something a bit more...real? To me, I just feel I can learn so much more from a more legit community with actual professionals rather than "kids playing at cards". Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing readers there but there isn't a chance of actually learning anything. Which is how I found my way here. I read using my intuition mostly, with glances at the base, generalized keywords when I need clarification or my intuition feels shaky. I do hope my time here will help me to grow and understand the world of tarot in a more enlightening environment. With all that being said, I'm glad to be here and hope to make some amazing friends along my journey into tarot!

LOL. Seven posts from you, including a request for mentorship, and all before anyone's had a chance to say hello and welcome.

So, hello and welcome.  :)

I'd suggest you have a poke around the forum, but it looks like you already have. So have fun and enjoy.

What's the point of joining something if you're just going to drop it? Thanks for the welcome!

I really am enjoying what I see here though some threads feel a bit...advanced for my current level. But this is why I'm here, to learn and to grow!
