How would you work out what that could be.

Crikey, that's a tricky one! Basically, we can't give a direct answer. The cards have their archetypal meanings, but it's the way they fall for you, and the intuition that comes with them, that give you the answer. A few pointers, though...

1. What was the context of the reading? What was your question, if there was one? If not, what issues were in your mind at the time? That should guide you towards the interpretation to some extent.

2. The suits are associated with different general properties: pentacles with the material world, cups with emotion and relationships, wands with passion and creativity, and swords with the mind and challenges... in a nutshell, although a nutshell can't really contain it. But even so, that gives you an idea of which major areas are involved.

3. Look for overlapping spheres of interest between the court cards and the major; they may help to indicate the area of interest.

There's a lot of subtlety involved in which court cards they were, and how they relate to each other, but that's all I can do from here. I believe the rules here are that if you want help with a particular reading, you need to attempt to interpret it yourself first, then give us the details... but in general, as has been said, the majors (and to a lesser extent, the court cards) tend to suggest long-lasting influences or major implications; however, they certainly come up frequently enough, and I've seen plenty of readings containing two or three majors out of three.

Can you please tell us what the cards are in the reading?  We will be able to discuss it further.  ^-^

What was the Major Arcana?  Since this is a discussion, this is fine.  I'm really curious to see the cards. ;)

Ok so the Lovers card is in your past position?  I'm going to disregard your reading because we have that to discuss, I just want to answer your question posted on this thread.

Hello Wanderer,

Thank you everyone for taking time out to write on my post first of all. I've done all that regarding my spread and put a link down below in one off my comments.

My question was what message does the page of cups have for me as i keep getting it in romance readings when i ask if someones coming my way etc.

This is where i find it hard to look for over lapping areas off interest on my readings they're quite tricky.

So your question is:

What does it mean when you get two court cards and a major in a reading

Since you are doing a past, present future spread you would read The Lovers card.  It is a message about the decisions and choices you made in the past regarding love and romance.  Because the card is a major, these were very important decisions and choices with lasting effect for awhile.  Next you would look at your middle card - the Present.  That is your Page of Wands.  So you would read that card for your present time.  This card deals with enthusiasm, free spirit, creativity, exploration and discovery.  So you are currently very excited and enthusiastic about whatever your initial question was for the reading.  Your last card is the future and that would be the Knight of Cups.  So you would read about the Knight of Cups.  Because this is the future, you have to look forward to the knight and how he will affect your reading.  He brings into your future, exploration and inspiration.  Then you link together how the past works into the present and how the future can affect your outcome.  I hope this helps and gives you can idea of how to do this reading.  If you're just starting out learning the tarot, I do recommend you learn the court cards for the energy they have instead of them as a person.  You can turn them into people once you've mastered the tarot a little more.  ^-^

I have recently made some choices in the decisions about my love life you'd be right there,  i just hope i didn't make the wrong chocie. Maybe i should be focusing on asking my tarot what lasting effects these decsions will have rather then badgering on about when I'll find someone else etc etc. Maybe i need to understand the situation before i do.

Next you would look at your middle card - the Present.  That is your Page of Wands.  So you would read that card for your present time.  This card deals with enthusiasm, free spirit, creativity, exploration and discovery.  So you are currently very excited and enthusiastic about whatever your initial question was for the reading.

that would make sense, i wonder if it's to do with the recent chocies which is why I'm excited, maybe deep down i know I've made the best choices for me but I'm hestiant to see it.

Hmmmm i may have to mull this one over as it's the linking cards togehter i struggle with.

No I've been doing tarot for a while, i just really struggle at court cards and linking them together, I'm very black and white in the way i think and i don't think that helps my case.
