reading for the dryden fair 2018, first day

it was a hard day.. no reads but one..

took us a while to get started. due to my top of my gazebo was missing..

so my mom brought herself one..

and that way we can get 2 sunwalls.

 

it was one of the hottest day of the years.. i sat there wilting.. finally i had my only read about 730..

 

now keep in mind.. thursday is always the slowest day,, the best i ever got was 80,, my lowest was 10 i think.

so 20 dollars seems like nothing, but that goes towards the 150 fee.. so tomorrow i only have to make 130 ,, and the rest is mine.. for saturday too.

 

anyhow here is how it went down.

 

she was 18,, she told me she used to read the tarot,, i look at her,, thinking she is quiet young,, best she could be is like 24.. so 18 seems right..

she confessed she used to read the tarot when she was 14 . hmm

 

so i did my pratice thing,, mentioned a male figure with a beard looking after her.. no resonantr really but a smile , who knows perhaps she thought it was jesus (jk) .

 

so she picked the three card spread for 20.. past , present, and future,, i thought about it a minute with my eyes closed (thinking i look like yoda feeling the force  eheh ) .

 

so i asked her if she really wnated to the, past ,, as i felt she should look at the future more.. so we discussed the  other 3 cards spreads on the list.

she choose, the choice, the blockage, and the desire,.(2 1, 3) .

 

so she choose the bag with the thelma tarot (which was good for that deck hardly get any love from me,, just one i hardly use ) so i was kind of exicted to see where it might go..

the cards were,, strenght reversed, magican, judgement reversed,,

 

so we discussed the magican first hand,, as i explained about the four elements and how they work together as a spell (in case she forgot the tarot meanin etc ) ,,

then we talked about the strength reversed,, and in the movies how wecan say to ourselves "well that's the movies "..

 

i then looked at the next card,, judgment reversed.. put it back down, and asked why she quit the tarot.

she said, her mom was against it, as her mom had some scary things happened to her..

i asked her if she missed it,, and she said no, se was happy to make her mom happy and she was growing away from it anyways.

 

so i fliped the next card, and said even though you outgrew the tarot for now, you still miss the spirits, the connectiom to the spirits..

and she agreed.

so after she said you are right,, i don't know what i want to do with my life,, and i fear i lack the strength to do it..

and i said once you know you want to do,, go ahead for your judgement card will upright itself and you will have that strong spiritual connection..

and i said i see you starting a business (which i did in inutiion maybe based on the magican as i looked at it ) and i said after all the devils wears prada had to start somewhere,, she laughed and said yes.

 

so her soul message was the 2 of pentacles. i looked at it a second..

asked if she had a boyfriend and she said yes..

 

so i said the soul message is saying it is ok to take  it to the next level psycially as you will always remember your first love, she beamed..

and i guess her freind was laughing..

and i said,, of course if he changes in the next two years ,, don't see it with an halo but instead see it as reality, but for now,, live ..

and her friend was laughing again..

which i didn't really notice, but the client explained.

all that you just told me, my freind has been saying to me.. and they laughed and i saw them discussing it as they walked off..

 

a good reading overall. (i focused on the message if he changed ,, to see things as they are,, and not because the tarot said they should stick together or what have you ).

 

i took her at her world that she was happy to give up the tarot for now, so i didnt' push it.  after alli it is her path eh.

have to start all over..

 

I made 290 profit,, after paying 165 for my booth,,which means whatever I make tomorrow ,, it will be profit.

 

the girl who i read for yesterday brougth her boyfreind,, her boss and her friend.. at differnt times..

i am just relieved i did well. ,so the 20 dollar reading turned into possibly 120.. (i didn't take into account the differnt prices )

 

i did have a repeat from last year,, brought her friend,,i said "hope i live up to the rep ".

 

my freind brought herself,, her friend and her freind dad.

 

and a girl i read for at the pow wow brought her friend as well, who got the ten card reading .

 

it was amazing for there was only 2 readings,, then kapow a whirlwind.. and nothing then an whirlwind again.

 

we stayed laster to 1030 when i went about 830ish as it was getting dark.. we had a light on the table,, so i did about 4 more readings !

second time posting it,, I am not sure what button I am hitting but I keep going back to reply and blank text darn it. ok typing it again.

 

my two mistakes.

 

1. mistook 3 of cups for 8 of cups..

i believe it was the thelma or good tarot .. not sure..

so when i saw the card i said have you thought about moving and she laughed and said they just built their dream house.

so i look at the card thinking "could the tarot let me down ," then i saw the 3 of cups looks a lot like 8 , the numbers i mean.. s

i explained the 3 of cups and all was right with the world.

good thing she was a tarot reader as well freshly new.. so it was funny.

 

2. short change a person 2 cards..

so he had a 50,, and i only 20s and one five , so he said he was going to take the 7 for 30..

so i gave him back his change.. all was good with the world. ..

i read his 5 cards, and his soul message..

"you still need to do 2 more cards " i looked confused, and said "oh that was the soul message that is alwasy comes with every spread ",

and he said "no i asked for 7 cards "

I sat down for a minute and it dawned on me.. OHHH , (and this was after I told him I was good with math ).

so I gave him extra 2cards..

he was good nature about it as I said when he left " sorry I tried to rip you off 2 cards " laughing.

 

one situation

 

a man sat down and i shuffled the cards and saw a big chord so if asked if he was married and he said no, so i explained after i shuffled the cards but before i turned over the first card that i saw a big energy chord to his ex,, and it was stopping him fro moving forward..

(and also farm )

his ex got the farm in the sepration.

the first card back up what i was saying alas i forgot it now, , (what card it was,,) the deck of a thousand spreads said what is blocking you perhaps..

so in the end i mention he has to let go of the farm as well, buy it back or get a new farm.

 

a cousin of mine that i know, but i don't know,, i got a message of cow, and kept seeing cow,,

and she has two cow chakers that her grandma (my great grandma gave her )

and she was thinking of my great grandma yesterday.. so i said the cow was a sign that great grandma heard her prayers. and acknowledge it..

my cousin is smarter then i and worked it out.

 

there was a lot more readings, but i draw a blank now,, soon to go to bed, i will ry to post a pic perhaps.

ok I thought I was hot Thursday,, IT WAS SO MUGGY HOT ,,  then it rain in the evening and chased away many potentials eheh.

in fact I had friends tell me(who work there ) that it was slow.

 

so I did a few readings ,, not as good as yesterday , but made 200 today .. at mostly 20 , 25, and 2 30 dollar readings.

so it was 500 profit for 3 days work.

 

I did have one lady come up to me from Toronto saying I read the tarot,, and asked "read me " standing happy in front of me..

I looked at her and said "I am not a psychic reader,, the sign says tarot card reader,, so I need some cards to read you,and showed her the prices " she said she would come back but didnt'.

which isn't a mark on her, you walk around the fair,, you get tired, your family wants to leave etc.

 

i read for an lady who i known in passing, she was impressed so much , she asked her husband to get a reading and they left each other in peace.  for me i was a sign of respect .

 

i read for my niece freind,, and my niece lives 2 hours away so i just talked to her and she said her freind talked about the reading all the way.

 

so my niece wasn't there for thursday and friday,, so when i saw her today , i was so happy..as we miss her little sister,, it is just that i felt we should alway stick together,.

it was her first time really seeing my nephew new baby so it was very healing,. as she took him for a ride, i had emotional pride on my face.

 

my mom who is 63, saw her teacher who used to teach her when she was little and apparently she was the principle when i was little , about 4-5  in 1980.

she said "are you the one i used to have to come get all the time " and she said "this one time i came to get you and you said ""hey lady you need gas "" ,

so she must be about 90ish or late 80s.. my mom said she was young when she was her teacher.

i guess my mom said,, that i refused to go to school, and so when the principle came,, i just jumped in the car. 

it was a small community so the grade school was about a 15 minute drive though.

 

i wish i had situations to tell you like i did for the pow wow ,, but no exact situations stands out today.

 

perhaps though as first time i am sharing here,,  you might get inspired to work at your local festival, fair.

No narrow-minded person threw bigoted slurs at you for reading tarot or believing in spirituality? Nobody came to you and tried to "test" you?

if you read the part about the lady who asked me to read her as she stood in front of me, that was a test imo.

 

over the years though i had people who sit there and won' volunteer information to validate if you are on the right path..  they guardingly say yes or no, like they were playing poker. 

 

at the beginning i had an old christian lady or perhaps catholic putting a hand written on my table, about how she didnt want me to end up in a lake of fire..

i had christian literature end up on my table once or twice..

luckily i never had a bigoted slurs tossed at me. .

 

i did about 9 years ago have an tarot reader of 30 years he said come up to me and say "you are doing hot readings "

what i did was see a card get a message put the card down,  ask a valdiations quesitons which was usually right on.

 

like this one time, i saw the heirophant as soul message, i put the card down as they were asian ladies and i asked "what religion are you " the young one said "i am a good christian " and i siad you are ? ,, then i asked if she was going to church, and she said she has missed it..

and i put the card down ,, point upwards in a funny fashion and said "he misses you " (like archie bunker )

she looked at the card, and they all started laughing. (her and her sisters).

 

i shared before in atf, that i had a lady who had 3 readings from me,, saw me in a down time in my life (i was sick so i was the hosptial waiting for consultiation ) she was asking me if i tell fortunes shaking her head .. and i i read the tarot ,, and she said" i been to you 3 times, you are entertaining but you been wrong. "  i gave her the answer i think it was "there are some people you just can' read for " ,

which is true i try reading for families and nothing,,

i would say there is 90 percent people you can read for give or take..

so after i got better, , and  thought about it,, i empowered myself again, for i had people come up to me years later and said you were right on ..

example my driver who drove me there the first time, shared that the reading i gave her at the pow wow (which i felt wasn't didnt' go well ) actually happend the day or two later, amazed i listened how it went down.

 

so page, while i don't live in a bible belt of the states,, you will alwasy sooner or later run into challenges, like the test,, how to read better, we were wrong..

but also you will have more,  omg you were right, you helped me so much..  that makes it worthwhile ..

 

in the end, for me i read the tarot to help others, but also when i was 16 i wanted to be a tarot reader to the stars (of course when i was young i imagine myself geting high fees lol but now i am older i have what i think is reasonable fees ).

one thing that i incorporate over the years is the request to ask them put both feet on the ground and keep their hands on table, or on their knees so they are not crossing in anyway.  i think that helps the energy stay open.

One of my sisters is like that - Yes or No only answers. But then she is also very hard to read. Not sure why, but out of all of us she is not so readable. Very few have ever been able to read her.

 

Not sure what it would be like coming across totally religious people or people that are way too skeptical. Although I did come across one Irish lass like that years ago and she was not happy when I saw that she had had a nervous breakdown at all. And that was just in her palm not using cards. Still did not sway her in any way, but she was rather sensitive about it coming out and avoided me after that.

 

I think these festivals must be really cool. A great way to see all walks of life and to share insight and give advice etc.

I did read that part. But her tone was lost to me, and so I thought she was just being a dum-dum who didn't quite understand how this works. Like maybe she just didn't understand the difference between a cartomancer and a psychic (someone who has their Third Eye open and can see beyond what the physical eye sees). I actually had a bit of a LOL over that, I thought it was kind of funny.

 

Sorry if that was actually unpleasant for you, though...

I see this attitude a lot on those "debunking" shows and episodes (I think at one point NatGeo Channel took this approach). I think it's very unscientific when people/hosts come into a subject determined to "debunk", sometimes I even wonder if they'll tell you you were wrong just to put you down.

 

It makes for great writing inspiration, though. I've been thinking about a character who can see into the future. If she decided not to warn someone of some danger she foresaw and let that person die, would she be able to live with it? Would she confide to someone that she let someone die because she was butthurt over something that person said, or would she keep it to herself? How does she sleep at night? Anyway, I'm rambling about fictional characters.

 

I like to ask validations from people I read for too, sometimes I'll just point to a court card/Major Arcana character and go, "hmmm... I wonder who this is?" I only read for my friends, and they're usually really chill about it because they know I'm just learning anyway.

 

When I had closure over something, in my head, I could feel my feet all slowly coming down and finally planted on the ground too (before that I was floating, when I got my first reality check—when I realised I was catfished, my toes slowly landed on the ground, but I was still tiptoeing mentally). That all just happened in my brain. But it makes sense to do that alcoholically IRL too. Greta advice.
