Have you ever doubted your reading? Like, the answer you are always getting from the cards seems to be too good to be true (the question is not like getting a gold mansion or something far-fetched like that)?

It is like your intuition is agreeing with the cards, but your brain says "hey be realistic! You know that ain't gonna happen."

I think one of the skills when learning and getting more experienced in tarot is to have faith and confidence in your readings! It can be particularly easy when you read for yourself to be too positive or too negative but if they cards that come up are a really positive message, that is the reading! You could always get a second opinion, ask a friend to look it over or post it here. Sometimes we get nice and positive readings and sometimes they are tricky and painful to handle, it is positive to get a nice message. But our minds are full of negative thoughts often, how can we believe it? I think if you are sure you were not too positive in the interpretation, that's really the message :)

The short answer is a big, bold, resounding YES  :P

Off the top of my head: a friend was applying for a scholarship and it was highly unlikely that she would get it. There were close to a hundred candidates, many of them local, but the cards were adamant: she would get it. (I think I got the Ace/pentacles.) I was very cautious, because I didn't want to get her hopes up in vain, but the cards looked pretty unambiguous. Well, she did get it.  :D

As for reading for yourself... It always comes back to the same rule: if you're not ready to hear the answer, ANY answer, you should not do the reading... (I know, easier said than done.) I always get excellent cards when I wonder if I could make it as a fiction writer. I thought I was seeing what I wanted to see, so I asked someone else to read my cards: it was just as positive and encouraging. I choose to understand it as "whatever the outcome, writing is excellent for you": I realized too late that I'm still too riddled with fear to hear the answer. Someday...  ::)
