Hello everybody! My name is Night, and I'm completely new to online forums, so please be patient with me. I've been dabbling in Tarot for about ten years now, and decided that it's finally time to get serious about it. Hopefully, joining a community will help keep me moving forward! It's good to meet you all.

Well, hello Night, and welcome to the forum. Great to see you here.

 

Loads of previous dabblers, newly interested, and very experienced members here: a good cross-section, so whatever your background I'm sure you'll feel able to make yourself at home.

 

So kick off your shoes, pull up an armchair and tell us what's your favourite deck/card/system/author or why you decided to get serious. I don't really do serious all that well -- I keep breaking into frivolity for no apparent reason. Even so I promise to listen.  :)

Hi Ratty, thank you for the welcome! So, my tarot background. After I got over my fear of eternal damnation in Hell, I picked up the Hanson-Roberts tarot and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot to start my Tarot Journey. Unfortunately, being a Pisces and having the attention span of a Gummy Bear, I've only studied in fits and starts since then. I decided to get serious now because I'm tired of doing everything halfway, and tarot is something I truly care about, and want to be fully involved in.

 

As for my favorite decks, I'm really partial to Celtic Dragon and Tarot of Mermaids. Since I've got a bit of a dark streak, I also love Royo Dark and Dark Angels tarot. I'm also into using the Tarot for magic (when I can get myself out of dabbler mode), and love the book 365 Tarot Spells by Sasha Graham.

It will!  I remember back in the day, after I had been dabbling in tarot for several years I joined Aeclectic Tarot and that is where I really blossomed.  Aeclectic closed, and TT&M was later born and it has that welcoming feel and sense of community I loved about Aeclectic, I was so glad to find a new Tarot home.  I look forward to getting to know you.
