Question about the Astrological associations of The Chariot and Temperance

I have a question about the standard Astrological associations of The Chariot and Temperance.  Most Tarot books I've read associate The Chariot with Cancer and Temperance with Sagittarius.  However, a few books suggest the reverse.  This makes more sense to me, since Sagittarius traits such as courage, confidence, and a love of travel seem to fit well with the traditional meanings of The Chariot, while the Cancer qualities of a need for balance, love of harmony, and the desire to be a guide or healer match up with the traditional meanings of Temperance.  Is it okay to go with the associations that make the most sense to me, or is it better to just go with the standard associations that most people use?

Unless your deck actually has astrological symbols on it, I'd say you should be okay to swap. There's no need to stick to Golden Dawn correspondences if you feel your deck is telling you something else.

 

I wouldn't suggest that what goes for one deck necessarily goes for all. Esoteric decks in particular might not read as well if you mess too much.
