Guest Night Shade Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hello everyone I had a very vivid dram last night, featuring two men whose appearances were extremely detailed, but who I had never actually seen before. When this happens, I always wonder if I'm sharing a dream with actual real-life people. What do you all think; is this even possible?
devin Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 It's definitely at least possible. I once had a dream about a guy (he was my boss at a previous job) that I hadn't seen for over a year. I decided to take the dream as a sign to give him a call and see how things were going. I phone, he picks up and goes, "Wow, that's weird, I had a dream about you last night!" Now, what are the chances of this being a coincidence? Especially when you consider the amount of time since we last saw each other and the fact that we weren't really friends or anything. I also reckon people have (sometimes metaphorical/impressionist) glimpses into the future via their dreams all the time. So, maybe this dream of yours is a precognition of some sort. Peace.
DanielJUK Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I think it's possible for sure. But also I see people in my dreams and they are just people some I know and some I don't in the dream! However some people I have seen in a dream and then met in real life afterwards, very Déjà vu, that is much rarer for me though. I believe some dreams are messages and predictions but mostly they are sorting out memories and experiences in your brain to sort them over night (there is a lot of science about that currently, sorting and filing away experiences and memories). But I have had some people I meet in dreams who are real but mostly they are just in the dream! Maybe I saw them once in the street and never even really noticed, perhaps they are entirely invented! I think sharing dreams is possible, like Jung really believed that the subconscious was a collective thing, a mass thing of messages flying around. I am not trying to question your experience in a critical way, but I wonder why you dreamt of these two people and shared the dream with them? I have some experiences of sharing my subconscious and even once astral travelled to my bestest friend in the world but we are very close and connected. It's interesting it's with strangers, maybe they are important in future? very interesting, anything is possible :)
DevonCarter Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I read an article once that said all the faces we see in dreams are people we've seen, somewhere. Could be a stranger walking past on the street, an extra in the background of a movie, whatever. I have had dreams before of places that I later visited in real life (a specific small-town church, for one) that were kind of strange in hindsight. I'm sure I'd never been in that church, but I remember looking up at the ceiling and thinking "wait a minute, I've seen this before! From exactly this angle!" I've recently had a couple of very interesting dreams that featured people my brain must have put together from random faces I've seen in life - because I knew who they were, but they were fictional characters that don't look like they did in my dream. One of them actually looked a lot like a human version of one of my dolls, but not quite. It would be kind of awesome if they ended up being someone real I met eventually, because they were really interesting people!
Guest Night Shade Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Thank you everyone (and thank you for not thinking I'm a complete lunatic!) I haven't met these guys yet, and I'm not sure if I'd be excited or totally freaked out if I did. It's interesting what DevinCarter said about people in dreams being people we've seen somewhere before, because now that I think on it, one of them looked slightly like Metatron from Supernatual; maybe I'd just been watching too many reruns. :))
