I saw on the internet several cards from the High Priestess with spider(webs). I do not have the deck names. But I was wondering, what is the meaning of the symbol spider and spider web? Thanks.

Spiders are traditionally associated with mysteries, secrets and the unknown. I would say that these images are referring to the big, invisible web of fate and the strings of life. It’s a bit like the norns in Norse mythology. They were in a position to see (and control) the past, present and future as they wove the web of life. But unlike the norns that actually created the web, I view The high priestess as someone sho can see the web (the big picture) and has more of a passive role. She’s the observer; the knower, perhaps even the gatekeeper - but I don’t see her as the creator (even though these cards seem to suggest that she is the spider who is responsible for the web)
