Trogon
I just stumbled across the Wormweird Tarot on AT's decks list. I'm wondering if anyone here has this deck (or has even physically seen it)? I ask because I see it available here & there, but scans of the cards other than on AT's deck list aren't the best. I'm wondering if the images on the cards are clear and sharp and, kind of, how the card stock is? And if you have any other thoughts, I'm definitely interested to hear ... sphynx131
I have this deck but sorry, I haven't looked at it for a while. From what I can remember the images are sharp and clear. The card stock however is very sticky and hard to shuffle. When I got it it was basically one big block of cards that I had to crack and I had to peel apart each card individually. That was a little nerve wracking. Once I got them apart they were ok though. I can't remember if I did a reading with it, but now I really want to pull it out again and give it a go. So overall I guess I would say that I do really like this deck despite the card stock. Sorry I can't give you more information .
Nydia
I got out my Wormweird. The card stock is thick. The deck is 1.5 inches (or just about) thick. The deck is white when looking at the side and there is no core in the card stock. These are glossy, which looks good on all these dark photos. The suit names are listed at the AT review. I just checked the book and the "Shadows" are Wands/Air. The "Flames" are Swords/Fire. Court names are Fetus, Knight, Lady, and Lord. It comes with a much needed book. This is an unreadable deck for me. It looks like a lot of work went into making each scene, but I can't get tarot meanings out of them. The box is big and glossy. I flattened the box and I keep the deck in a big tarot bag. The Amazon price of $39.99 seems ok, if you really want it.
Trogon
Thank you both. Your replies were very helpful. I had the issue of the cards sticking together with the Illuminati Tarot, but I think that was in large part to the gilt edges. And my Voyager Tarot is very glossy and a bit difficult to shuffle. So the Wormweird sounds like a bit of a cross with the drawbacks of both decks. Well, maybe I'll get it for my birthday. :D
DevonCarter
I'm betting the stickiness is the high-gloss coating. I work at a printer and UV coated high gloss business cards always brick together and have to be pulled apart! I had that issue with the Illuminati, also - and the Linestrider doesn't have the gloss but it was also hard to shuffle, for me - so I lightly wiped each card with a tissue dipped in baby powder, and it helped quite a bit. Also, that deck looks pretty cool!
Trogon
Thanks for that tip Devon! I hadn't thought of that, though I may get some powder that isn't scented like baby powder. But I do have a couple of decks that might benefit from the treatment. Well, it's on my wish-list! So, maybe I'll get it for my birthday. :D
Ncharge
I have this deck. I didn't have a problem with cards sticking. For me, it is a very readable deck. One of my favorite dark decks. The images are clear.
