Rose Lalonde Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I was reading a good article at Llewllyn by Susie Change (of Fortune's Wheelhouse podcasts and book Tarot Correspondences). It reminded me a bit of the Tarot Word Game thread we have here, where a word is sometimes a specific activity, and the next person picks a card to represent that. Here's an excerpt: Now, let's take it a step further. Which card represents: It's raining?I'm meeting an old friend to chat?A plumber's coming to fix a leaky pipe?I'm making a schedule?I'm getting a cold? If you can do all this, then you're speaking fluent tarot. And you never have to stop. You can ask yourself at any point: when you're tying your shoes, when you're checking a book out of the library, when you're brushing your teeth: What would this be in tarot? I enjoyed the article and did a version of a reverse draw, going through and selecting the images that most represented how I was feeling at that moment. I was bit grumpy then, so they weren't the cheeriest. >:D But it was still a fun exercise. Then I drew a random card to contemplate. At the end of the article, I noticed her new course called Living Tarot. That's here if anyone is interested in the details. (I signed up. I'm not new to tarot, but I'm never done learning, and as a Fortune's Wheelhouse fan, I couldn't resist. Hopefully I'll get a sec. to write something for our reviews section when I'm done. :) )
Rose Lalonde Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 …and Llewellyn's site seems to be down now for me ??? , but hopefully the article will be back up momentarily.
Bookworm Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 It looks great. I look forward to hearing what you think of it.
Rose Lalonde Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 Thanks Bookworm[/member] :) I'm enjoying it, and I'm only on module 1. It's self-directed with her worksheets and assignments at google classroom, with feedback from her just at the end of a module when you turn in the assignment, so it's easy to fit into my schedule. (But you do have to be someone who keeps themselves going or sets your own deadlines if you need the push.) I actually snapped this course up just as her beta period was ending so got a discount, but all is running smoothly, so if it's still being adjusted, I can't tell. Love your new avatar ;D
Rose Lalonde Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 This course is 50% off today only. Thanks to Portia[/member] for reminding me :) , because I meant to post it here yesterday. Good RWS-based exercises in line with her article above, and mostly self driven work with no deadlines and not a lot of direct interaction beyond the recorded talk before each section unless you ask questions.
