Hello one and all,

I’m a new reader from Australia who has found tarot through a bit of an interesting route- I’m actually a master mason and through my studies came across the writing of A.E Waite and...well.. here I am.

I actually just received a Rider Waite deck and drew my first card for myself after a bit of study to brush up on my cursory knowledge-

My first card-Ace of Wands, how fitting.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I am actually quite ignorant what a mason is,, (I am assuming it isn't the building people ). do you have a good link to information.

I seen the term tossed around a lot,, I am a mason,, in tv shows and books.

Thank you all for the kind welcome-

I’m really looking forward to diving deep into the tarot world, as I said I got here through reading some work from AE Waite (of Rider Waite Smith deck fame) as beyond being a member of the Golden Dawn was also a Freemason.

Within Freemasonry there are many areas people choose to focus on be it our ritual, our charitable works, history, esoterics or just getting to share a meal with someone you wouldn’t have a chance to otherwise.

For more information there are several variants of freemasonry but from “regular” men only through to co-Ed masonry or female only aswell, there are also numerous appendant bodies- but I digress, there is Symbolisim that is familiar to me as a mason in the standard RWS deck and being new to it I’m sure I’ll discover more in time.

In terms of more information the United Grand Lodge of England being the Mother grand lodge of “regular” freemasonry would be a pretty good place to start.

Welcome Dave

Here is a Masons smile for you. In mid-school I have a friend who got to wear beautiful long white dresses because she was a member of Eastern Star.

One day I asked her mom if I couldn't also be a member because my dad was a type of mason? She tried so hard not to laugh in my face...

My dad drove a cement redi-mix truck.  Made perfect sense to me :)

Haha I love it :)

I’m quite curious about the OES myself but my wife couldn’t care about such things and with a 4 month old I’m just not drawn to trying to find more stuff to eat my time-

Being able to study in my spare time is a big must for me right now.

Hi Daveho! Welcome to the forum!  There is a deck out there you might be very interested in.  It's the Masonic Tarot:

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/masonic-tarot/

It is a Marseilles style deck, meaning the pips aren't illustrated with scenes, only representations of their suits (swords, gold, chalices and mallets.)

Hi Dahevo and welcome to TT&M.  One of my Grandfathers was a Mason  :), and I have a couple of friends that are also part.  Enjoy your Tarot journey, it is very enriching and rewarding.

My grandfather was a Freemason; and very secretive about it, so welcome. I too am new to the forum; and feel blessed to have found this one! Blessings, Gerald
