Hello everyone!

I am South Florida native that recently moved to Los Angeles a few months ago. (Don't let the word South fool you, South Floridians are very far from being Southerners, for better or for worse.)

I have always been fascinated with magic and in particular tarot cards.  I remember staring at the decks in B&N growing up, but they seemed so untouchable.  (I think they were kept in a glass case?) My mother bought my first tarot book when I was 12 or so and it came with a mini deck that you could punch out of the book.  Unfortunately for me, it's possibly the worst book on tarot ever written (I found it again at 24 and it was still indecipherable). I shelved my dreams of being a Charmed One for the time being.

In college, flush with cash and not under anyone's nose, I bought my first deck.  Still a bit of a bust.  Here's the thing about me, when I love something, I dive deep into it. When it comes to movies or shows, I look up why they chose a prop or a color, because I believe it's important.  This is also why I've never been able to get into comics, because there's just too much canon to back read, but I also can't let that go and just jump in.  When it came to tarot, I felt there was one way to read it and that was it.

I ended up picking up The Minoan Tarot a few years later. This was the perfect deck for me.  It was still based on the tarot system, but was also removed enough that I didn't feel like I needed to know everything.  Once that was under my belt, an obsession was born.  I own WAY too many tarot decks and wish my friends would come to me more, just so I could bust them out.

So, that's me.  It's been 7 years since that first college exploration and 3 or 4 since I got serious about it. I'm on instagram at popmygoddess[/member] and my own site at popmygoddess.com.

Hi, Kelly, and welcome to the forum! :)

I think I saw that book with the pop out cards at B. Dalton when they still existed. I almost bought it - now I'm glad I didn't!  I'm glad you finally found the deck that was right for you.
