HaileyHayes Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Hello All, This is a topic I don’t hear much about, I tried to see if anyone made a thread, but I did not see one, so apologies if I’ve made a repeat from anywhere. As well as being new, I hope I put this in the right topic! [emoji102] What is everyone opinions on using substances when tapping into readings? This could be alcohol, marijuana, hallucinogens, and so forth. I’ve heard a few different responses which I’ll get into: 1: This is bad as any sort of substance keeps you off guard, making you more susceptible to negative energies, for instance bringing in the bad, possession, and such. I feel more religious readers or psychics lean towards this. 2: This is good, as it keeps you “hazy.” In other words, the conscience isn’t putting in a filter, you’re not trying to rationalize or focus on specific details. Meaning this lack of control allows you to tap into things more easily without the blockage of your own mind and doubts. 3: Not negative or positive to a huge extent, but worries that you’ll be lack focus to notice particular details you may have spotted more quickly if you had the “focus” of being “sober.” I don’t claim to believe any one answer is correct. I believe in the good and bad in everything in life and that everything has positive and negative aspects and results. Now I’d love to hear others opinions and reasonings! HaileyHayes Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Also this isn’t limited to tarot in my mind. I would consider it for all forms of divination. IE: Pendulums, Ouija boards, Meditation. I just started with Tarot as that’s the main source of interest for this forum! [emoji106][emoji2532] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oink Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 I like to think of tarot as the human experience encapsulated into 78 cards. Drug use is part of the human experience for many people, so it’s hard for me to see the purpose of artificially separating it out. Of course drug use affects perception - that’s the appeal of drugs in the first place. Does drug use influence my perceptions and readings when “under the influence”? Absolutely! I appreciate those opportunities because they can help expand my insight into the imagery. Every time I do psychedelics I pull out my deck and go through the cards one by one to see what else I can pick up on due to the heightened sensory experience.
Saturn Celeste Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Hello Hailey and welcome to TT&M! Because this topic can concern illegal drug use we choose not to have these types of discussions because of forum liability. I do understand that coffee, teas, herbal drinks and alcohol are not considered illegal but this is a judgement call of the administration. It's best to leave borderline topics like this alone. I am going to lock this thread and if you want to continue to discuss this with me, I encourage you to Pm me. Thank you for feeling comfortable enough here to begun this discussion. We do welcome fresh ideas but unfortunately other threads we've had on this topic tend to go haywire.
