I do have a physical journal! But I use mine as a sort of grimoire? It has my favorite spreads and I'm working through going through each of the cards and writing down personal meanings for them. I maybe should try to do more personal journaling, but I struggle to remember to do it in the moment XD

Here are my answers:

If you do what all do you keep in it?

Yes, I have a paper Tarot Journal. I keep all my thoughts on Tarot in it. And my readings, where I always past a picture of it.

Daily draws?

I do not use daily draws.

Have a list of spreads?

If there is a spread what attracts me, I have it in my journal.

Do you prefer lined or unlined?

I prefer lines.

How often do you use it?

Almost every day.

How did you pick it?

There is a local store that has paper notebooks.  I always go for book in A5 size with lines.

For me my paper notebook is the basis for my Tarot Journal on my computer. So I have one on paper and on digital. The paper version has just ideas, which I can categorize by the correct card in my computer journal. It is the basis for my computer journal. How often does it not happen that you are watching a movie, and you think well that movie is connected with that and that Tarot card.

In 'real life' I'm a writer by trade, so this means that I have about 64 paper tarot journals on the go  ;D (I just can't help myself).

My journals contain my own personal readings, intuitive insights, and automatic writing sessions with my spiritual team.

I find that taking out my journal and physically writing down what I perceive in my personal readings really helps me to connect with the information and guidance I'm receiving. Plus, it's always handy to have a record on hand that you can refer back to. I couldn't do without a paper tarot journal now. I absolutely love the ones I have :)

Oh, nice!  I am also putting together a grimoire myself.  Not much in it at the moment.  I do have a printout of the meanings for each lenormand card meaning, but I haven't added anything else as far as card reading going.  I did put in the aura reading I got at a Psychic Expo here and plan to keep anything special like that in it as well.

I was sharing my issue of not journaling the other day with a friend, and they say its a lot like meditating.  One may try to do so every day and some days are good at doing so, but then a day here and there is missed as life has a way of getting in the way.  so, I see that it is really something normal that happens and not to worry about it, just to do my best at doing this on a daily basis.

I'd like to hear more about your grimoire.  I've been going to pinterest for ideas of what to put in mine.  I did see some gorgeous books at the psychic fair that would be fantastic for grimoires that looked really cool.  However, way out of my price range.  Then I decided to just get a binder and make my own.  Its not as cool as those I've seen at that expo nor as great as some I've seen online--but thats okay too.  Its really for me at this point anyway

Offline Ix Chel, yes, you are right, Ix Chel.  I often watch movies or a tv show where I can see something relating to a tarot card.  In fact, that was also a great tarot exercise, to try to read about the movie or tv show before I saw it and see how accurate the reading was.  Its a good way to learn how to read cards together and is fun too.

Audelia, you're ahead of the game already being a writer by trade.  :)  64 paper journals for tarot already?!  :bugeyed:

WOW! How do you keep up with all of that?!  :))

I do agree with you that keeping things written down that you intuitively get is very handy.  I have done so a bit with certain things but sadly, not all.  I wish I was as disciplined as yourself with that.

I keep a physical tarot journal! I love minimalist, classic-looking journals with smooth, amazing-feeling paper. My favorites have been Japanese notebooks, like Hobonichi, with its outstanding Tomoe River paper. My tarot journal last year was a Hobonichi Techo A6. It was small and portable with a page for each day. The profile was slim because of the thin but durable paper. And the journal lay flat for writing, even though it was not spiral bound.

This year, I couldn't get my hands on a Hobonichi, so I got a Kunisawa notebook instead. I think it's a B6 slim size. It has a flexible clothlike gray cover with very beautiful, smooth paper as well, but not quite as nice as Tomoe River. It is a blank journal otherwise -- no dates or anything.

In my journal, I like to record my daily draws, which is always two cards in the morning and sometimes one card in the evening, and I like to reflect on those cards in my journal when I have the opportunity. I also have a list of my decks, a wishlist, a deck tracker (to keep track of how often I use each deck), and a daily draw tracker, separated by Majors and each suit, that I set up when I first began the journal.

I keep some spreads in there. Mostly, they are major spreads like my year ahead, my astro spread, my birthday spread, etc.  I do not keep spreads that I might randomly do for fun or spur-of-the-moment, like for the full moon.

I do not like lined or blank paper. My preference is grids, but dots will do as well.

I use it everyday.

I bought it at Kinokuniya, a Japanese book/stationary store. I absolutely love browsing their notebook/journal selection there! It's quite extensive. I'm thinking of getting a Midori notebook to keep a personal tarot reference book, like a notebook of personal meanings for each tarot card.

I enjoy journaling with felt pens and really enjoy Staedtler Triplus Fineliners and Stabilo 88 Fineliners, although I only use black, gray, or blue pens!

Thinking of adding daily reading to my journals after reading this thread! I keep writing, daily stuff, thoughts, etc. in there as well. Worried it might get messy, but I find compartmentalizing things to be more trouble than it's worth, so I think I'll just keep it all in one journal.

Being a beginner, writing down my draw and its keywords and them my analysis make me remeber, later mapping me if my reading was write or wrong and remembering it next time is my habit.

Writing down make it easier to read but may be with time, i get everything in my mind and might not ned to write and take note of everything.
