And another version of the card in the reply directly above this one, a tribute to a consummate politician AND actor, the late great Ronald Reagan and his lovely wife Nancy!

Okay, here's some multimedia fun with an interpretation of how a figure on a Tarot card might act in an unexpected way.  If Baba Studio had produced Sister Act, Whoopi Goldberg might have conducted the choir like this:

The Botticelli Empress Grandma with a Raggydoll cracks me up!  That's not how Botticelli Empresses are expected to act!

Another card is Strength reversed.  This is someone who goes on an angry rampage like a raging lion, but is really crying inside, and knows that they'll regret their actions and be very sorry for them later.

Good analogy! It’s something most of us can relate to I think  ((

I'm so glad this thread is open again, Night Shade[/member]!

How about the Six of Cups?  The children seem so happy and innocent but watch out.  One may be plotting to kill the other.  (In case you wonder where that bizarre thought came from, it may help to know that I'm re-reading The Bad Seed.)

I'm glad you added that parenthetical line, Grandma.  You scared me for a minute there! ;D

That's so funny!

And I am so happy to know that you and I are both here, busily involved in the forum, posting back and forth in this thread and the "which deck will you be" thread in real time!  Isn't it fun?

6 of Pentacles could also be putting on an act - eager to show off in public how generous they are, pillar of the community etc. What strings are attached to this benevolence? What do you need to do to ‘deserve’ this generosity?

Good one, Flaxen[/member] .  A lot of politicians come to mind...

This thread started out as a way to have some fun, and it continues to succeed.  But it also offers flashes of serious brilliance.  Thank you Flaxen for an interpretation that is funny but will also be useful in actual readings as well.

I also think the Ten of Cups has interesting undertones. The outward appearance of a happy, perfect family. The Bohemian Gothic card for this always makes me feel uncomfortable.

The ten of pentacles is worse in my opinion. It has a shadow side that smell of old money, spoiled children (that perhaps rely on allowances or inheritances) as well as a sense of loyalty and attitude that seem to say “We stick together - no matter what, and laws do not always apply to us”.
