Cotillion Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I've been reading for others since May of this year....I couldn't tell you exactly how many readings I've done for others (all long distance)...but if I had to guess maybe around 200. But tonight. Tonight I hit my first wall. I tried to read for this person twice...once when I first took my cards out, got absolutely nothing...I saw nothing, couldn't make sense of any of the cards. So then I tried to do some other readings for other people, and those came out simple/easy! Figured alright lets go back to the first person...nope wall was still there :-[ This is super discouraging. Never have I not been able to read for someone. Does it make me a bad tarot reader? Have others run into such a problem? I guess I just come here looking for help....should I not be as discouraged as I am?
Wheel of Fantastic Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 You shouldn't be discouraged, mental blocks happen sometimes. Was there a particular question you were trying to answer with your reading? I find that questions give context to the cards drawn and are actually necessary for a meaningful reading. Did you make a note of the cards you drew for the reading? Sometimes it can take awhile for the interpretation to become clear. Also, I find it's always worth getting more information from the querant to help clarify things. I wouldn't be discouraged if I were you, blocks happen and it makes for a good learning experience to reflect on why so you can be prepared the next time it happens.
gregory Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 The only time it ever happened to me, I realised later that what they wanted to know was not something they were "supposed" to know. As in those awful threads "Is he gay ?" (No that wasn't the question, but it was a question designed to peer into someone else's privacy, when I thought about it later.) The cards sometimes won't offer information that should remain private - or "for the moment unknown", in my experience.
JohnLetter Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Me happened very often that Im mixing the cards very long and feel nothing, not the right moment for pull out the cards for read.
Saturn Celeste Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Cotillion[/member], as long as you have cards in front of you, you can read them. Simply read each card individually and then put it all together in a summary. If you rely only on instinct to read then it stands to reason you might not have as strong a grip on your cards as you might think. Know the card meanings and you can read them. ^-^
