It's the Devil in 2023 for me. I have no idea how that will play out yet but at least it sounds fun. I went back to calculate the last few years and how fitting that 2020 was a Hanged Man year for me. I spent a third of it on pandemic furlough.

@Scarlet Woodland thank you for sharing it here! Hopefully it would be a fun one and would love to get an update at the end of 2023 on it 🙂

I will try to come back in this thread and update how my year goes/went for me!!

My “raw” four-digit number with year 2023 is 2050.

I do wait until my actual birthday to begin, so the first half will still be under the “raw” number 2049 {with year 2022}

2+0+4+9 = 15

XV, the Devil

2+0+5+0 = 7

VII, the Chariot

Another method of calculation I use:

*any number divided by 22; multiply to get the value to subtract*

22 x 93 = 2046

2049 - 2046 = 3

III, the Empress

2050 - 2046 = 4

IV, the Emperor

From the calculations in Mary Greer's Archetypal Tarot my card for the year 2023 is Death. We shall see how that works out. Calculating back, the last time he was my card was 2014, which was the year I took early retirement. He appeared for the first time in 1996, then again in 2005. I can't really see a major pattern there but interesting nevertheless. I'm not scared of the Death card, in fact I like to see how different decks show him.

Good new year's morning!  Since my birthday is in July, I definitely do year cards birthday to birthday.  So my current year cards is for 2022:  5. Hierophant.  Which is the same as my birth year card.  I'm not sure what that means, but if it means a fresh start or returning to my authentic self, then I'm in for it!

Method 1. 14 Temperance.

Method 2. 13 Death.

Method 3. 4 Emperor.

I think I stick to method number 1, that´s the one I have used before.
