RavenOfSummer Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Do you use spread cloths when you lay out your cards? If so- what kind of cloths do you use? Do you make them yourself? Purchase them? Use scarves or other pieces of fabric you happen to have around? I am wanting another spread cloth or two, so am curious what others use. I have one altar cloth/tarot cloth with a depiction of the Horned God that I use that is beautiful and very well made. Other than that I tend to just use scarves that I think are pretty. I don't always use cloths when I lay out my cards though, especially if I'm just doing a simple reading for myself.
Rowena Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I have a gold-ish scarf I use when I'm at home. It matches the deck I use most often, and my tarot journal. I've been visiting family the last couple weeks, and I've just been using the black cotton I wrap my deck in. Honestly though, that's mostly to protect my cards from getting hair on them. I don't really have a table to read on rn, and with three long haired women in the house...well, let's just say that cats and dogs don't have anything on us. X-D

Flaxen Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 I have one in particular which is a favourite. It’s a heavy blue silk cloth, like a pillow case. It came with a deck purchase from Tarot Connections - either All Hallows or Tarot of the Crone. It doesn’t slide about and provides a lovely backdrop. I also have one which is more like the type you can get quite cheaply. It’s a vibrant orange but I don’t like to use it so much. There is also a lovely one from Baba Studios but it’s too busy for me. I much prefer a plain backdrop to my readings.
