Styx Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Hi everyone! Besides being a tarot enthusiast, I am also a board game geek and wanted to share a cute little discovery of mine... I came across this simple game called "Shahrazad", which is supposed to be about fairy tales from around the world. But the names of the 22 tiles (visible through the link below) more than rings a bell for you and me ;) https://boardgamegeek.com/image/3855430/shahrazad I thought that if there are other tarotistas who like board games around, they might be interested! It's a very simple game where you have to lay the tiles one after the other in a certain way so as to score as many points as possible. It's also one of those little games you can play by yourself during a little break.
Flaxen Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I’m a board game geek too! Love the look of this one. Will add it to my wish list. :)
Styx Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 I'm very glad if I could help fellow geeks! ;D Of course the downside (but is it one?) is that you can't help reading something into the tiles you draw. I played a few games the other night and drew the Emperor first in every round. I almost felt like I should write it in my tarot journal. ;D
Arrow Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 The art in this is so sweet! I'd love a complete tarot deck in this style. <3
gregory Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 It looks lovely. How come the Amazon listing says there are 21 tiles, though ? there are 22 in the image there... There are cheap ones up there. I shall bite ;)
Styx Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 Gregory, it must be a mistake in the listing; I own the game (of course I do, two of my three buying demons in one object) and there are twenty-two tiles, from the Fool to the World.
gregory Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Indeed it is an error. There are 22. I think it's lovely :)

I've seen the game mentioned previously, but obviously didn't take a good enough look at it at the time. I shall do so now. Thanks for the recommendation! Oh, I just remembered... Y'all may also want to also check out this solitaire card game: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/202821/fools-journey. All you need is a tarot deck and the rules. I've got them printed but still haven't gotten around to giving it a go. :-[
Saturn Celeste Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Styx[/member] I just got my copy yesterday. Do you still play the game?
Thoughtful Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 l love board games and this looks so different. l will have to put out hints to hubby, my birthday soon :D

Also a nice way to get acquainted with a deck.
gregory Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I'm clearly a bit thick - I can't figure out the rules as posted on that site...
Saturn Celeste Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I'm clearly a bit thick - I can't figure out the rules as posted on that site... I need to sit down and look at the rules also. I glanced at them and realized, a glance won't do it!
moonglow Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I'm clearly a bit thick - I can't figure out the rules as posted on that site... Nope, that'd be me! I didn't link directly to the rules, and I also just remembered that you might not be able to download them without an account. Whoopsie! ::) Here is the direct link to download the rules PDF: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/133704/fools-journey-rules If that doesn't work, they have also been posted here, which I think anyone can read: https://boardgamegeek.com/article/22837592#22837592 Alternatively, anyone interested can feel free to PM/email me and I'll see if I can send you the PDF.
Saturn Celeste Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I'm giving this thread a little bump because this game is so cool!

Saturn Celeste Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 No, it is a tile game that you lay out the tiles and make a story. Maybe you could but you'd need to see how the game is played first. And the little tiles are so cool!
Emilija Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I will be ordering a copy when I get paid. Thanks for posting!
