~D~ Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I was flipping around the internet the other day, and I found this flash card thing with tarot...(it looks like someones project)? I haven't looked at it real close...I will post it, and maybe someone can figure out if its helpful at all...(it looks like it might help get some of the traditional meanings down for the cards)... https://quizlet.com/212976251/the-hanson-roberts-tarot-flash-cards
Tulirose Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 This is interesting. I can maybe see me using these back when I was starting out and trying to figure out meanings. Kind of like using a book, like 'The Tarot Bible' to look up the meanings of every card in a spread, but faster because all one would have to do is flip the card over. These would probably give a few laughs to beginners who were trying out the cards on each other just for fun.
Raggydoll Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Of course it could be helpful, especially for people that are drawn to those types of learning methods. It could be a fun project to choose which keywords to use. And that deck could end up being a very nostalgic item one day. I know that some people feel that you shouldn’t put so much focus on studying the cards and rely more on your intuition. I think that’s a personal preference to some degree but that there really can be no downsides to knowing the traditional card meanings no matter how intuitive or psychic you are. It simply gives you a solid foundation, lots of confidence and the best of both worlds.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 I made a set for runes the year that was my focus of study, very helpful, still have them.
McFaire Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I just checked out this link and it also has several other tools and games to help learn Tarot. Neat. There's match 6 game where you get 6 descriptions and 6 cards titles to match up. Each round was different. Other game-lets and quizes with Tarot material. Fun, good for beginners. Text-based though. No images.
shekina Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 As a beginner, I think this is a great resource! I especially like how it goes into the small details about the cards. While I'm normally observant, I tend to miss the small "clues" which could be why it's been harder for me to tie the cards together. I think I'll be making great use out of that site!
gregory Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 You know what is really annoying ? I just did their test, whcih was fun - and got a shedload marked wrong - because I used ordinary numbers rather than Roman ones.... 8 cups instead of VIII cups - and also put Page cups instead of page OF cups. So it shows me at 75% rather than whatever I should have had for getting ONE QUESTION wrong. I am PEEVED !

They have only programmed one EXACT phrase for each card name. It looks like it is made to go with a class where you are getting some kind of handout with the exact names that are available to choose from.
