How do YOU Hygge?

I posted in Spirituality because, for me, HYGGE is ALL about spirit!  Making my spirit happy, cozy, at home.

Hygge is just about being cozy, comfort, warmth (both the literal and figurative kind)

Hygge in my home (ESPECIALLY my bedroom) is:

a thick comforter

THICK soft socks

candles

curling up with a great book with my dog by my side

artwork I love to look at on my walls

hot cocoa

soft, fluffy...well, pretty much anything!

So...how do you hygge?

That sounds very pleasant. I like to stretch out my legs along the sofa and half doze listening to my favourite music through headphones .

never heard of 'hygge' (showing my ignorance here), so had to look it up.  So, now that I do know what it is, I can say that I like to hygge also in my thick wool socks (in the winter time) and be relaxing in our very comfy couch that reclines back.  Good book in hand, and being immersed in the read, with a nice warm cup of tea in my hand and just feeling warm and secure. :)

Of course in the summer time, I would much rather be in my summery clothes and flip flops, COOL drink in hand, and sitting outside on the dock perhaps, big floppy hat on to keep the sun out and just listening to some music perhaps and watch the world go by. ... :)

Hmm I'm not quite sure if I can swallow the way this word is used semantically in English here.  :'(

But if I want to really hygge myself!

(Notice how the hygge needs to be applied to someone, myself/us/themself/yourself)

I might make a cup of tea, put on some music and read an exiting book.

Then I'm really hygging myself!  ;)

I think of Hygge as I do to dance.  I know it can used as a noun, verb.

I used it as I understand it and it applies to me.  And I liked this title for my thread! :)

You obviously got what I meant, which is all that matters to me X/

Sure, no problem.

I just had to mention it, because the whole thing grates in my mind.

That said, I'm not entirely sure how Danes use the word, as I myself am a Norwegian,

and there may be differences in usage, there certainly is for a lot of other words.
