Hi everyone.  :)

I am just wondering, how do you keep your cards, store them safely?

Usually, I keep the decks in a wooden box individually. I purchase the boxes from an art market vendor. The boxes are plain with a small mechanical lock. Then I carve the name of the deck on the box (so I know which deck is being stored and I don't have to open each box to get the deck that I search for).

How about you?

You have found boxes with little locks? That is so cool, and a great idea !!!!

I use to have my cards out ,and they lived in my old abandoned pussy cat condo (facing the world)...or the day/elements..

I live in a building where people are a little nosy, and landlord might even come in when u are away type thing...

Sadly, now i have them in my backpack with some crystals ,and they are tied up with ribbon etc...

I take them with me when i travel, and if the building ever caught fire it be grab and go ...:)

In their very own room. There are chests of drawers, shelves and a tallboy. They are starting to spill on to the landing (it is a very small room...)

My cards that came in tuckboxes go into an assortment of drawstring bags, and the ones that came in sturdy boxes stay in their boxes. Right now they're sort of...scattered throughout my bedroom, haha, although mostly in a few stacks by my chair. I really need to clear some shelf space or something, it's getting a bit unwieldy.

I'm afraid many of my decks look a little neglected. I have been on a bit of a hiatus for a few years, and many of my decks and books are sitting on a small shelf in our spare room and have gathered a bit of dust. Can't quite plant potatoes on the shelves yet ... but we're getting there. A few other decks are on a bottom shelf of our entertainment center, some (the one's I'm going to be using soon) are on the dining room table. And the ones I'm currently using are in a tote bag I carry with me to work. I'm afraid I'm a tad disorganized ...

The ones that came in tuck boxes are mostly still in the original boxes. Several of these boxes have been reinforced with clear packing tape as I have used them a lot. Some other decks which came in larger boxes, but without an inside box to keep the cards in, are in small bags of one sort or another (a couple came with bags and I've purchased a few bags). I don't keep them in silk ... other than one tie, I don't own any silk.

I make simple drawstring bags for my decks that I keep them in instead of the box. I'm not always super quick with making them so decks get to stay in their box for a while until I find a scrap fabric piece that vibes with the deck, and I happen to have the energy to sew up a little bag. No silk, mostly cotton I think. I keep them all in a small chest I painted in a indigo-like blue, but my collection is growing so I think I'll have to come up with something else soon.

In a drawer.  I have had at various times, decks scattered around the house, but Val keeps me tidy now and mostly they are in a drawer or on my desk.

I keep them in their own cardboard box, all in my big divination box sitting on a shelf in the living room. I guess it might not be the best for longterm, so I should think of something better haha. Altough it's rarely very humid here, so I'm not too scared of that!

In glass fronted bookcases in my workroom. They have bags made for them if they

a) came without a box

b) are my current working deck (although that's been the same deck for over a decade!)

c) get taken out in car/handbag/whatever

Otherwise they're in their boxes, as they came . I'm a bit OCD in a happy way.

I've knit or crocheted a bag for most of my decks and then decorate with a few charms or embellishments. I used brown yarn with metal gear decorations for my steampunk deck. My Ghost Tarot deck is in s bag made from light grey yarn with an iridescent ribbon. I can tell what's in each bag by the color of yarn. Except for my Night Vale deck. That deck came with a lovely and sturdy bag so those cards stay in that when not in use. My decks go in a drawer with my tarot books. I keep my current working deck in a padded pocket in my bag.

Now that I think about it, I have an oracle deck that still needs a bag. I'll have to figure out what yarn to use.

deck onlys stay in their box and live in the top drawer of a dresser.

Kit boxes are shelved just like books.

I'm careful with my stuff, so simple works for me.

I only have a few precious ones now. They're kept in their box in a drawer, or a bigger storage box depending on which they are.  The ones without boxes are in plastic containers that greggers got for me in Canada.

Most of my decks, the ones I use most, get their own bags with little stones inside. Many times when I have boxes, they are falling apart. I travel a lot too so bags protect them better in my luggage!

After this convo, I found what looks like a material makeup bag/folder??? I was browsing thru the local thrift store and i spotted it...Its Chinese red brocade, and very pretty!!!! It fits 3 decks pretty good, and there are little pouches for crystals too! I think it was waiting for me to come along :) It folds over and does up with a ribbon and a tassle, and super great for travels...

Decks stay in box. Boxes stay in shelf.

That is how I keep my cards.

I just keep them in their original packaging. Those I currently use I display in my altar-of-sorts. Those I don't I stash somewhere cool, dry, and dark.

I wrap mine in silk. I also have some silk sleeves, made for tarot.

Loose in the drawer of my writing desk.

...probably not the best plan.

The only deck I've kept in its original packaging came in one of those magnetic-closure flap boxes. I love that box and all decks should come in them.

I will sometimes make cardboard boxes or decorative bags for the decks, but mostly I keep them in gauze drawstring bags that I buy in lots of 20 or 30.  (They're useful for a number of things.)  For decks, I use colors through which the title of the deck can be read.  Most of the time the deck goes into the gauze bag still inside its original box.  Sometimes, however, the original box is too big, too flimsy or is missing altogether.  In that case, i insert a slip of paper with the deck's name, when I got it and other relevant data.  Once they're clothed in gauze, the decks reside in a couple of cabinets, in various small trunks and boxes, and a few baskets.

I keep most of mine in original packaging, which is only viable because of how much of my collection is indie decks. I want to keep the decks without boxes in bags but process is slow on making them, so right now they sit in those little plastic drawers they make to hold art supplies. (I own a LOT of those, another one holds some of my tumbled crystal collection.)

I made little draw string bags for them (well, the ones that don't have big fancy boxes) with fabric that suits the deck. I store them on a bookshelf, but they need a better home... At least a basket to keep them all together! The ones I am currently using live on the coffee table where I do my daily readings.

In the photo are my bags for Pagan Cats and Raven's Prophecy :)

I have a bookcase that I use only to store my decks and tarot books.

My decks usually stay in their original boxes unless they are currently in rotation; then they're in their own draw-string or flap bag (mostly from Baba, a few custom made).

The only exception is that some of my TdM's are in leather pouches that were made especially for them.

I like the little box idea!  I've always kept mine wrapped in fabric in a drawer with my incense.

If they came in a tuck box, they’re still in the box. If they didn’t (particular traded decks), they’re in drawstring bags. The problem with bags for me is that I have a very hard time remembering what deck is in which. I try to make it relevant - for instance, I know the Tarot of the Sphinx is in the bag with hieroglyphs -  but if it’s the third green knit bag on the shelf, I really have no idea. I should put tags on them or something.

I cut down the big, floppy boxes that sets come in to deck size (or make boxes for decks that don't have one from shirt-sized gift boxes):

I've got most decks in bags to protect the boxes from wear and tear which I keep on a modified bookshelf (I added some shelves). I used to fit the bag to the tarot/oracle (theme, color), but now that my collection has grown, I have tagged them to make identification easier:
