Swift Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I have been interested in tarot for a long time and have been doing readings for myself and loved ones a short time. I think of tarot as a tool for introspection, for unearthing answers you already have, but have found it divinatory too, by accident more than anything. When doing readings for myself I get helpful and consistent messages, so consistent that I sometimes find them repetitive, which is fair. I enjoy reading for others, to practise reading a greater variety of messages, to deepen my knowledge of the cards quicker and to be of joy and use to those I read for. I joined the forum in the hopes of reading for interested individuals other than myself and my loved ones, who have kindly indulged me so far. Hoping to find and contribute to a kind and inclusive forum. Wishing you well.
HOLMES Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 welcome.. what decks you using,, what is your go to spreads for reading for yourself. did you try that Tarot for One: The Art of Reading for Yourself to perhaps read better for yourself.. or tarot for yourself, a workbork that helps you learn the tarot on yoruself. that is one reason why i don't read for myself,, i know so mch about myself,,i am like i can lie tomyself about this,, and that. hence that is why i love reading for others.. , it just flows.. others love reading for themselves maybe over reading for others.. that is awesome.
Swift Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 Thanks! I mainly use the Ostara tarot, all year round, and really appreciate its aesthetic. I use varying spreads depending on the question, from one card draws to longer spreads covering different phases of time or life. I find Beth Maiden, of Little red tarot, a great inspiration, when it comes to all matters tarot, including spreads. Thanks for your recommendations. Will look into them. What are your go to decks and spreads?
