GreatDane Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 just like to sit and shuffle? While watching a film, listening to music, etc.? Even when I am not reading, I will sit and shuffle decks. I am very tactile and like to shuffle, but it also helps me feel more connected to my decks. I guess like giving a friend a hug (( I enjoy the act of shuffling. It also has the side benefit of "breaking in" new decks and the cardstock. ANYONE else shuffle when NOT getting ready to read?
DevonCarter Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I do sometimes! Usually if I'm sitting down to watch a show or movie I'll have knitting in my hands, but if I don't, after about 20 minutes or so I find myself reaching for a deck to shuffle. I have to have my hands occupied.
Raggydoll Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Yes! Especially if I have a new deck then I’ll sit and shuffle it while watching tv. Feels so good ^-^
GreatDane Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 :) X/ EXACTLY RAGGYDOLL! I like the ACT of shuffling, even when not reading and the feeling of physically connecting to my decks. But also it really helps with breaking in new cardstock! Although that's kind of a side benefit, I would still shuffle and often shuffle my older decks, the ones I use most often.

ANYONE else shuffle when NOT getting ready to read? I can't watch TV where my table is located but I do watch YouTube videos on my IPad. I shuffle my cards to keep them from sticking in the humidity down here and to 'straighten' them out. Instead of face down, I will shuffle face up. After some shuffling the cards no longer bend. If I use a deck a lot I will re-bless it and shuffle.

Breaking in new cardstock is so yummy! It’s like carefully opening and stretching the binding of a new book (plus smelling the paper/cards... am I the only one that does that?!)
GreatDane Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019  <3 I LOVE the smell of paper, as in books, cardstock! OK, SOME cardstock that smells like chemicals, haven't we all been there? NOT SO MUCH....but papery smell. AHHHHHHHH <3 X/
