I wonder if any are selling at all. My mental image of on line readers found on blogs and ebay and etsy is a person who gets an order punches up a free digital reading somewhere and then copys it to the querent.

I know, pretty curmudgeonly, but people will do absolutely anything when it comes to money.

I have my readings up on Etsy.  I used to sell pretty good, but it was mostly Yes/No pendulum readings that were the most wanted.  It's how I made my start though!  Now I sell through my own site.  I think it's easier on Etsy because it's a marketplace and they help with promotions and SEO and such, so it's very popular for readings.  I'm not so sure there's 7k tarot card readers, but reading offerings.  Some people can have 10+ different readings in their shop.  There is a big amount though!

I have always been thinking of becoming a professional tarot reader. But wow, it sounds there is a lot of competitions.  :o

I believe it was banned on Ebay...

I think many do sell fairly successfully on Etsy with tarot and other psychic readings, but so much competition!!!! How do you stand out among everyone else..You would have to have some funky photos...good friends, and followers....

Etsy can be pretty strict about things, just close some shops with no explanation...I heard at one time they banned readers too, but then allowed them back....If religious things were going to be allowed, then it was ok for tarot etc...

Everyone has their different & unique way of doing things, so you should do it even if their are lots of others doing it...If you super enjoy it, give it a go ;)

The good thing is that no one is offering "4 pillars of destiny" readings there. Maybe I should give it a try after more practices :P

That's exactly what you have to do, find something that's a bit different...and get really good photos ,and good explanations...

Yes, you find something you enjoy doing, that isn't done as much, and fill that niche.  Make people feel that they need this reading!  :-*

I had a chat with a friend who is a registered lawyer. He suggested that if I offer readings on a commercial web site, I have to be extra careful with potential law suits that could be filed against me, such as moral damage (reading which hurt the seeker's feelings and caused emotional distress), defamation damage (readings that underestimated or prejudiced the seeker in any way, such as career, education, or ever ability in parenting).  :-X :-X :-X

I think I need to create a "legal terms and conditions" or pay a solicitor to do it for me.

I cover most of that in my Code of Ethics I believe (and you can borrow from it if you want!)

Also check out Benebel Wen's website. She's a tarot reader and a lawyer and is always sharing her resources.  :) She offers legal document wording for these kind of things.

Thats sounds scary!!!! Another thing you could do for ideas, is go into another Tarot shop on Etsy and look at their legal terms and conditions...You could ask in the Etsy forums too...

On a national (or international) level, yes. On a local level probably not. You can start small and work up.

Oh, thanks for the advice, everyone!  :-*

Thank you so much for letting me borrow your code of ethics, Little Fang  ;)

Yeh, it does Deeisme! I know people are nice in this forum, but there are so many nasty people out there.  :( My cousins have a few businesses, funny things do happen from time-to-time. Good to be careful, then sorry. Thank you so much for the advice as well. I will check out the forum.  ;)

Oh, thanks very much, Ace! You are right, there is no way I could compete at national or international level. I mean, 7000 readers on a single site  :o There are hardly any tarot readers in my local area, only a few. Hmmmmm... 4 pillars of destiny is unique.  ;D
