Guest Night Shade Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Hi, whatsawhosit[/member] . We have a journaling section right here on the forum! You can record your spreads, write a journal, or whatever you want. Here is the link to that section: https://www.thetarotforum.com/journals/
Guest Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Thanks, sounds like I'll have to make it myself. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
moonglow Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 The only tarot app I have really looked at is the Tarot Sampler by The Fool's Dog. They do offer the option to enter an "external reading". You can enter an overall question/title for the spread, and then select the cards and place them free-form on the spread cloth. Then you can enter what you'd like in a very basic journal. I can't even see an edit option, only "add additional comments", which then duplicates your entry in the journal index. There is a search bar for the journal. I haven't seen a way to label the spread positions. Feels a bit clunky and constricting, to me, overall. I still keep thinking of buying one of their apps, as I'm new to tarot and I like the way you can easily have the pages from the guidebook when you're looking at a specific card, but I continue to hesitate. For digitally logging a reading, I'd probably just snap a picture of the spread, and use a non-Tarot-specific journaling app that allows text, audio, & photo entries, a calendar, tags, searching, etc. I have multiple things I'd want such an app for - not just Tarot. Still trying to find one of those that I'm satisfied with the current reviews for. "Day One Journal" is one example of this sort of app, though. Certainly would be interested to see what you come up with!
Guest Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 ive downloaded almost everyone on the google play store. Every tarot app tells you what the cards mean...which leads me to believe that they are made by programmers that bought a book on tarot, or just googled the info, and made an app. none of them appear to be tools for studying tarot, so much as they are toys for divination. like buying a bag of fortune cookies, or calling miss cleo for a reading. please before people get upset with me for calling them toys..but they are. the info in them is the same info that is floating all around on the internet and in the average tarot beginners book repackaged into a tantalizing little intreractive digital thing on a phone.....so that you willget pummelled withe things to buy while you read it.....i would just use a book myself The only tarot app I have really looked at is the Tarot Sampler by The Fool's Dog. I am well into building it..i haven't done programming in a a few years so I had to bring on a coder friend to do the end work....now i gotta do it lol it would be awesome if EVERYONE here were to help. I would say by mid summer i will need to get a beta team together. usually want a thousand beta testers for something like this.
Guest libra Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 I'm super interested to see what you come up with! I've been dying for a great tarot app that goes beyond what exists and just don't have the skills to create one.
Guest Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 I'm super interested to see what you come up with! I've been dying for a great tarot app that goes beyond what exists and just don't have the skills to create one. :) Work has begun. In the next month I will begin the principal art design. A lot of this is beyond my ability as well. So a team has been assembled, and plans are laid out. The plans go far far beyond a journal now... Anyone that is interested in beta testing this, shoot me a pm with beta test in the subject. I won't be answering the pm, it is just to let me know who is interested. Also note whether you use Android or Apple and which device and model you have. There will be a limited number of testers and anyone that is already journaling in the journal forum will get priority. The current third milestone is to have a working e-book reader and journal by November ready for bug testing. Ready for a wide scale beta on the App store July of 2020.
Schmendrick Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 For anyone still looking, I actually just found a good one that came out for iPhone / iPad. I'd been looking through the store for years, and this one was just released. It's called Tarot Journal, and it supports daily readings, querent phone books, reading export, and even custom spreads. I'm overall very impressed with it, and it's a steal at $2.99. You can find it by searching "Tarot Journal" on the app store. It's by Steve & Cheryl Godfrey.
