It's a lovely deck, but I am still waiting for it to really speak to me. Awesome to see the pictures though. It looks fantastic.

AMAZING pics, thanks for sharing this @katrinka

Now I can’t wait to receive my shipping notice, after that if it’s the « speed of light » 😄

Omg that's beautiful 😍 my deck is taking forever to arrive though... Hopefully I will receive it this week

Where overseas shipments are concerned, under a week just IS the speed of light. 😁

I'm really enjoying the book, too. Some things in the LWB from the first edition struck me as sugarcoating, so I never purchased the book then. But Karen doesn't shy away from this stuff. You still get the positive slant, but the darker aspects are noted and acknowledged. It may look like a cute fantasy deck, but it doesn't shy away from some of the more sinister activities that people get into. That's why it reads so true. But it usually does so with humor.

I think I've already mentioned this one in another thread:

Here's a hen seeking help from the wrong guys - they're cooking her egg!

And this might not end well:

And, and.... no shipping notice yet! I need to be more patient! 😇

I think I'll receive it this week, though, because I pre-ordered in March (but I wasn't among the very first vague of customers apparently); this deck seems a huge success (already out of stock!), so they planed a second run according to what I read.

I love the sinister aspect of the cards (with humor)!

No second run of the LE...they have a few that they held back is all.

Yes, for the standard, the LE is unique! 🙂

Did they correct the misidentified dragonfly/grasshopper ? (i.e. is the book by Karen - it was Sophie Nusslé who misidentified...)

Yes and yes: it's by Karen, and she's corrected it:

"Our interpretation is a grasshopper, dressed in ballet clothes and dancing on tip-toes."

Ah! So it's a no-fault, just excellence! 🙂

Yes. I haven't found even one issue.
The first edition deck and book were published in 2006. So they've had all those years to consider what they'd do differently!

It's possible I will regret not to have pre-ordered the LE because it looks superb, but well, I had to make a choice and since I really want to use this deck regularly I chose the standard, with the book naturally!

It will be a MUCH quicker and easier shuffle. 😁
The LE kind of slows you down and makes you savor it, lol.

Wow didn't know even normal edition is sold out already. Baba really know to create demand  since they don't keep reprinting again and again even for normal edition.

The demand is due to quality, IMHO.
I once had a playing card deck with Le Fleurs Animees images on it. A lot of detail was lost. There was no comparison to the Victorian Flower Oracle - Baba print quality is top of the line.
And then there's the stock, and the fact that Karen is an actual longtime reader. A lot of decks these days are by people who are just looking for a venue to sell their art but have little or no Tarot experience.
Even the boxes are sturdy.
So when a Baba deck is announced, people jump on it.

I have do doubt that all contribute to Baba's name. I was referring also for the fact that some artists and studios rush to repront right away and keep calling reprinted edition limited 😅 after the second reprint I don' think it will sell out that fast.

Btw i am still waiting for my deck to arrive in Italy, it seems to take forever with thos situation 😭

Unboxings and reviews already began on YouTube, below for the Fantastic Menagerie standard edition

Couldn't agree more--a studio/artist that puts time and effort into what they produce will wind up selling out quickly once word gets out. It's odd to think of how uncommon it is to find a deck that is good print quality, quality card stock, a good box, **and** a decent guidebook, but that's simply the case. So when a deck with actual thought put into the symbolism, *plus* all the rest comes out, it flies off the virtual shelves. (I will freely admit I've camped more than a few limited pre-orders for decks I knew were going to be top notch.)

I know I'll be a while getting mine; Mythical Creatures was nearly a month in getting here. (*quietly clicks F5*)

🙂 I received my shipping notice ! My parcel is in Ireland, travelling; I’ll likely receive it the next week.

WOOOOOOT!
Mine took 7 days to the US. You might get it sooner.
Or not. The mail is a thing of mystery.
