Setjezusenu Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Do you do daily draws? How accurate do you find them? I tried to do some for practice, but found them mostly hit or miss and often felt like I was grasping at straws to make them fit the actual events of the day. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or if something?
Thoughtful Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 l do daily draws and they can be quite uncanny. Are you asking a question as you shuffle? Such as how will my day go, or what do l need to know today.
Endy Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 I don't have a ton of experience under my belt, but I have been doing weekly draws and I find that this is really helpful. I agree that meditating on the meaning of a card and trying to relate it to my life in one day is difficult. Some days just fly by!
Thoughtful Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 For meditation Endy, l draw one card in the evening when l have a new deck, so that l can really look into the image, take in every detail, see what it is saying to me. It's a great way to learn your tarot. Doing the morning draw can do the same thing.

It's a great way to learn your tarot. Doing the morning draw can do the same thing. I actually have been doing daily draws, too, as a point of study. But I've just been going in order, starting with The Fool, so I don't know if I actually consider this a "draw." I do try to connect to the cards as much as possible, but it doesn't quite seem to be as powerful as the weekly draws I've been doing. I think the benefit of a daily draw really depends on what you want to get out of it :)
Thoughtful Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 l would give your deck a good old shuffle and when you feel ready take a card off the top. l feel it would be less boring and the fact you don't know which card will come up makes it more interesting. If a card comes up that you have already studied just go the next. For my evening card l will ask while l am shuffling what would you like me to meditate on. For my morning card l do as already mentioned earlier in my first post.
HermitWriter Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 I enjoy doing daily draws. I usually do a 3-card spread. I'll use it as a chance to get to know a new deck, or study with a deck, or just see how different cards play with one another. When I'm having a super hectic day, time spent reading my cards may be the only quiet time I get before I go to bed. Some days I have questions (like: how can I best deal with x, y, or z?) Sometimes I'll just say "tell me a story" and go from there. For these readings, I'm far less concerned with getting the "right" meaning, and much more interested in looking at the artwork and playing "what if?" games. I find that if I approach daily readings in the context of "I must learn these cards," it becomes more of a chore that I try to avoid. Viewing it as "whew! I finally get to spend time with my deck," makes a lot of difference :)
TheFeeLion Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I have 3 apps I use for my daily draws (Galaxy Tarot, Golden Thread and Mystic Mondays). When I get the time ill look at all three cards at the start of the day any try and figure out how the will relate to the day, then at the end of the day (again, if I have time) I'll look at them again and see how they actually related. As an example, on Saturday I had my Hen's party and one of my cards was the 4 of Cups. I thought "oh screw that! I am determined to enjoy it and NOT be disappointed!" It turned out that we went camping and my bridesmaids had everything sent up well out of the way of anyone else, then come about 9pm a group of 9 younger people decided where we had camped was a perfect place for them too! We were all a bit disappointed by that fact but we had a great time despite it all :) it wasn't until the next day that I realised that's what the 4 of Cups must have been referring to!
Eric13 Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I do a three card daily draw and I have six different 3/cards questions I rotate through. I write down each card, some of their meaning, forget by noon-time what I drew usually. But, I write them down to help keep me fresh on their meanings, then the next morning I'll look back on what I drew and often times say, "I'll be damned..." I also do two different weekly draws on Sundays, mostly for practice. I've been doing that for the last three weeks. Looking back at last week, I have to say, I got some things right much to my confidence. I don't do professional readings yet, but I will be later this year. I keep it fun for myself by seeing something others may not in what I feel the cards represent on a wider more spiritual scale. And it it keeps it all fun!
Rupicapra Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I do daily draws, with new and old favourite decks. I ask: what energies are surrounding me today. It makes me try to pay attention what's going on around me (I'm pretty good just turning my "observational brain" off and go into day-dreaming-robot-mode). I usually can find at least some representation of the card during my day, altho sometimes they can be a bit far fetched hahaha. But it is more for myself to learn the cards: to find meanings I can add to a card and learn different situations, emotions, whatnot that the card could represent or be applied to. And if nothing comes through, then well, maybe that card was meant for a day that I turned left and took that path, but on that occasion I turned right for whatever reason? I'm not disappointed or question the universe if I pull the 10 of pentacles and then don't win the lottery.
Setjezusenu Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 Thank you everyone for the responses! I think I'll try asking "What should I know today?" instead of "What is my card for today?" to see if that helps.
