firemaiden Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Dear Tarot persons, I am Firemaiden. I thought of coming back as a different person, like Schadenfreude, or Feuermädchen, or filledufeu. But it seemed you'd probably find me out anyway, so here I am in the guise that was me on AT. I am not much into tarot anymore, but I do get nostalgic once in a while, and today is one of those days. Mainly certain decks draw me in and I am currently lusting after the Bauer Tarot, which is how I found this lovely site. Thank you to the lovely people who have put this lovely site together, and I would really love to have some tea with you. Love Firemaiden
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I was just thinking about you and the toaster a few days ago..welcome home :)
Raggydoll Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Welcome! I’ll gladly have a cup of tea with you :heartz:
Mi-Shell Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Hi there, firemaiden! Nice to see you here; you fit right in!♥
firemaiden Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Raggydoll, AJ-ish/Sharyn, and Mi-Shell, thanks for welcoming me "home". It does feel like finding home, or at least a little tea-shop for secret tarot adventures. (Serving scones ?) I learned something from your posts, I see Raggydoll has a "little corner" of this tea-shoppe for readings for feedback, and Sharyn has a blogspot called "quickeries". I went to visit both the on-forum little corner and the off-forum blogspot. Sharyn I love seeing "the person behind the words", your reflections and the pictures of the cards. Since my flaming "firemaiden" days on AT, I have married and moved to France 2009. I've been here ten years ago already !!!! And am no longer singing or much. I am however criss-crossing my new country on behalf of an online opera-magazine called Olyrix, which publishes my reviews which I write in French. I did four in the last ten days ! It is unpaid work, but my expenses are paid, and that allows me to continue to feel like I'm part of the business even though I am no longer singing myself. (I can devote my energies this way to encouraging not just young singers, but also the opera companies themselves, the directors, and conductors, and sticking up for the art of beautiful singing.) I'm living with cancer (since 2013), and I am grateful for every moment I have. My darling (French) husband keeps me laughing. He is 25 years older than me (I am now 57), but has the heart of a boy, the mind of a steel trap, and the memory of a six-floor public library (and a tooth which is killing him, he adds, since I just translated the latter for him). My most recent tarot acquisition was the Ceccoli, and my husband recently bought me a really gorgeous shiny new toaster in rose-gold colour. It is not well adapted to French style of bread. The two slots are meant for American style square shaped bread, not elongated crust-heavy baguettes sliced-in-half. We're having a bit of an adjustment period, and I am still waiting for the toaster to talk to me. It is only March something, and Spring is here. We have a little garden, live not too far from a lake, and are visited by dozens of birds.
Hemera Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Welcome firemaiden. Always so nice to meet AT people! <3 May I join you guys for some tea.
fire cat pickles Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Hi, firemaiden! Great to see you here :) It's been a very long time...
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I'm so sorry to hear you are fighting cancer, dirty rotten disease. I've recently had both breast and lung but seem to be clear now...it is a brain changer for sure. How brave and exciting we all thought you were to move to France ;) I lay my sliced long ways baguette on top of the slot...

gregory Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 HELLO YOU ! <3 <3 <3 <3 Are you still - being weird in a basement (where IS that clip...) ? I'm so sorry about the cancer - I have a sister in law in France who also... she is lucky enough to live near Toulouse where they have that HUGE specialist centre. Post here. Post a LOT :) It will get more and more home-like when you do
firemaiden Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 Hi Gregory ! Thanks for the welcome. Gosh, I don't know anything bout the basement clip in question ! Luckily I also live near a huge specialist center, and am being very well taken care of. What is your sister-in-law doing in Toulouse ? I get to Toulouse quite often, I'm just beginning to explore it a bit, because usually when I go it is a quick 24 hour trip opera reviewing trip with no time site seeing. Now that the weather is warming up, I've been more adventuresome on my trips. Okay I will post a lot, I'm still not sure where things should go, but will figure it out. :-D

Marigold Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Oh. How we all loved our sweet firemaiden, didn't we. I can hear the sweet sounds right now of her laughter and see the fireworks that always exploded in some kind of celebration when she was around. She spread joy and happiness wherever she went. The tears that are falling right now I offer them to her. With her magic, she will transform them into the music that she loves so much. Adieu mon amie. Merci pour tout. (the tears are really streaming now). Thanks for telling us gregory. I hadn't seen your post.
