I've been backing Tarot decks through Kickstarter for a long time now, and on one of my regular searches for 'tarot' on kickstarter, I came across this forum. How cool! I like tarot as objects of art, and thus tend to buy decks that look or feel interesting. The other day I got the rest of the Moon Crystal tarot in the mail - I'd backed it originally as a deck of the Major Arcana only, and this delivered the balance of the deck. I still haven't really looked at it yet. I first started collecting after I bought someone's 'New Orleans Tarot' off of them in a Greyhound station that I was walking through. (I happened to have parked on the roof, and was heading to the elevator.) I've continued to pick up various decks as they've interested me. Kickstarter has been a great (help/hinderance) to this, since so many nice decks show up there. Happily, they've all delivered. Nice to meet you all!

I'm hoping this week that I'll be able to do some cleaning up while my daughter's on spring break.

Well, I don't have any pictures on me, but it was up on kickstarter, so - (link removed) would be the link. It's basically based on the Sailor Moon anime. Kickstarter is how I tend to pick up decks these days, because people do come up with the most interesting ideas there. If you want to see other decks I've backed, you can check out my Kickstarter profile page - (link removed), but you'll probably want to play with the filters, as I've backed an astounding number of projects. Ah, sorry - apparently I'm not allowed to post links. A sensible precaution, but an unfortunate one.

I've backed more things than I should, although luckily enough I've received most of what I've paid for. Happily, none of my tarot contributions have failed, which is nice - I've not quite so good of an experience when backing dice or games projects.

jcfiala Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 Oooh, got my shipment notification for the Visconti Modrone Tarot, which was another Kickstarter project. This reprints a classic tarot from the 15th century, complete with simulated gold leaf on the cards. Gonna be pretty! <3 <3 <3

I can only imagine, what an impact it had on your life to have happened to park on the roof and to suddenly encounter the tarot world like that! It’s that whole Sliding Doors scenario, and of course with the mysticism dimension traditionally associated to the tarot, and the theme of your first deck... it’s just extra crispy to hear, how the right person for that deck was near-by and drawn to it! In general I just think, how amazing life can be to give us these stories and scenarios, that oftentimes appear to us afterwards, when we reflect on our individual lives and... in a greater sense, on how Life sometimes seem to love to be more of a story nature than unconnected sentiments. Of course, it’s nice when it throws us tarot decks! Rather that than lemons, for sure! :)
