Raggydoll Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 It was actually the Korean tv series Mawang (Lucifer) that made me discover Stella’s tarot, and the imagery really spoke to me. And the descriptions of the symbolism was very evocative. So that’s what made me search out the deck, and it has been a top deck for me ever since 🙂
tabi Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I have a lot (way too many) tarot decks, and I love all of them for different reasons. Yet, my favorite to use and will go to without fail no mater for question for me or someone else is the Everyday Witch. I just responded to a post randomly offering to give it away and I "won" it so it isn't something I intentionally went looking for cuz not overly fond of the artwork but it is a kick butt tarot deck and solid reader.
Morwenna Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 I can't really say I have one favorite either, but what I always called my three workhorses are all RWS-based and mostly bought for the art: the Morgan Greer (my first love, though not my first deck), the Hanson-Roberts, and the Robin Wood. Actually the Wood has some bits of symbolism that also drew me in. But one that grabbed me right from the start was the Arcus Arcanum, which I don't believe gets enough love! Back on AT I started up a study group for it which only attracted two or three participants before I ran out of energy. It is RWS, but basically has a different milieu represented by each suit, and there are parallel design elements among the suits for each number, the swords paralleling the wands and so on. It fascinates me no end.
Scribemole Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Much like mooshedpotatoes (can't tag yet so pretend I did) I also have a big love for the Aquarian Tarot and has been my go-to for years. What drew me to it was that the designs themselves seem more mystical than the traditional RWS, more suggestive, almost like they exist within dreamspace. Over time though I've been looking more for something from the TdM lineage, and the JJ Swiss has been getting my attention quite a lot, though I'd love a TdM deck that is minimalist, like a pack of regular playing cards, just to see how the Major Arcana would be represented, since modern recreations always seem to stick rigidly to the traditional faces.
