RowanHood Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 For those of you who have a blog about tarot, what is it that you include in your blog? How often do you post? How did you start? I've been debating about blogging about my journey with tarot.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 I've been blogging my decks since 2007, the cornerstone of my day. It took about six months of writing and deleting posts before I hit my own stride. First I had to chose if I were writing for the public or myself. I went for myself. Although the blog is public, it could just as easily be private. I found trying to write to draw readers obscured the whole process for me. I had to decide between divinatary or introspective. I chose introspective. Length of post...I usually seem to write about three times what gets published, but getting it all down and then erasing and fine tuning is what clarifies what the root of the card means to me, at that moment in time. that said, writing is hard work. Doing it over the long haul is harder work ;) The web is a graveyard of blogs of all subjects. So deciding if you like to write period is probably a good place to start, but you never know unless you try. good luck, let me know how it goes!
Bodhiseed Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 I've been blogging daily since 2011 and got started with encouragement from Sharyn. :) Like her, my readings are more contemplative and reflective than divinatory. I pair a tarot card and an oracle card together for my reading. It is rare that write more than a couple of paragraphs. My time is limited, and I feel like anyone who might read my blog has limited time too. I don't think I've learned much about future happenings from it, but I've sure learned a lot about me. I've also made some long-lasting friendships with other bloggers. My advice would be just to jump in and begin (that's the hardest part). I think you'll find it rewarding if you just do it for you instead of trying to write for a particular audience.
boydiviner Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 I haven't been a great blogger, but I try to share things that help others, such as reviews of decks or quick walkthroughs. There are also some times when I do personal posts but I don't feel like those are necessarily for anyone but myself. It's just a little bit of a different medium from a personal tarot journal. In any case, I recommend you try (blogs can be just made for free) and if it's not something you resonate with, just stop! :D
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 casper, you said on your blog "Where I had been lost, the cards had started to provide some meaning and acted as a form of self-reflection. Further to that, I went back and found the Ba Zi Natal Chart readings that my parents got for me when I was younger and found some sort of solace in the person that I am today, flaws and all. Now, I seek to help others with my own skills." ================ I have found my cards to be such a powerful personal tool and i'm so Happy I found them. Like you it was sort of by accident. For many years I'd pick a subject of study for the year. One year I saw an offering for a free online course in tarot. I was SO hooked! One year I chose blogging...and that was successful. I have had a few years that were total fails. Love your logo by the way.

I've been debating about blogging about my journey with tarot. Hi! Rowanhood, RowanHood[/member] I have a tarot blog, but I include other things too (ghosts, astrology, orbs, etc etc) I use to post almost every day, but I try to post at least once a week now... How did I start? A lady told me I needed a blog, so I asked my daughter if that was hard to do and she said, "maybe in some cases"...I found it really easy to do on blogspot, for now, then one day maybe I will change it up...http://bluemoonrizing.blogspot.com/ PS/If anyone wants to be a guest writer on my blog ,please let me know & I will send you an invitation...PM me on tarot tea and me...

Thank you <3 I paid an artist to do it and I'm just glad that he and I were pretty much on the same page once we got the base design done. I love the Charlie Brown cards you're using in your blog and even more impressed by the discipline you have in posting. I'm glad it ended up being successful for you!!
