Hi all  X/

I wonder what time of the day you do your readings?

From both astrology and astronomy (Einstein's spacetime) I know that time and place are important. That's why I needed to find out the right time to do them, and after some silent prayer I found out that 1 am or 1 pm would be right.

Do you have any specific time of the day you do your readings?

Just for the record - I regret I posted this thread...

Koblo, please realize that this is a forum, and so people post at their own pace. A forum, unlike a chat room, runs at a leisurely pace. It may take more than an hour for people to respond. :) your question is not dumb. Have patience!  <3

Also, we're all in different time zones all over the world, so that makes a difference, too. Plus, this is a small forum, too, so there aren't as many people here at different times of day as there would be on a bigger forum.

The time of day for me is morning right after I get up and am having my coffee and moving among this and other forums. But I'm a night person, so when I say "morning right after I get up", that means around noon. Oddly enough, Tarot reading first thing when I get up is the only thing I've ever found I excelled at when I first wake up. I don't know why that is. My mind usually doesn't know I'm up and moving till about the second cup of coffee. I think it has something to do with that, really. My thinking mind doesn't get in the way of what the cards are wanting to say.

I don't have a set time - I do my readings whenever the spirit moves me.  I usually wait until I have a question, then I'll do my reading, sometimes even if it's in the middle of the night!

When I feel like it. When there isn't something I want to watch on TV. When I know I won't be interrupted.

I've never felt the "when" was an issue.

I do my daily readings on the morning not long after I get up, or the evening before if I've time. But generally I read tarot when I have a quiet moment for myself that I don't spend doing other things. And, very important for me, when I'm not tired.

Dear @Litttle Fang

It wasn't due to lack of respond - I think - that made me write that I regretted it. It's just that I've become so shy - even in front of a computer - that I hate to be showing off like "see what I know".  :-[

It's a private, emotional thing. I'm so shy!  :-[

I kind of feel like the importance of anything is what is ascribed to our - and for me, astrological hours etc aren't part of my practice (and I feel like time is a human construct and meaningless anyway lol) so there isn't a set time of day that is ideal for me for reading. It's all in how I'm feeling that day!

Not a specific time no, although it's probably more likely to be in the evening when I can sit quietly and mull over a spread.  Unless it's just a one card pull then that will be whenever the mood strikes me and that's quite often earlier in the day.

For the most part, I do my readings in the morning time after my wee ones are off for school and I'm having my coffee. It's the time of day that I'm mostly undisturbed. It's the quiet before the storm of work and before the day gets hectic and I get to sit with my reading and journal or meditate, etc. It's my favorite time of day.

I don't reserve my readings only for the mornings though. If I want to know something, I do a reading no matter what time of day. I've done readings in the middle of the night on several occasions.

I like to do readings at any point I know I won't be disturbed or be distracted.  For me, that's usually the mornings shortly after my breakfast and morning tea.  But, I've been known to do them at all hours!

I'd be interested tho about the theory of time and space being important, can you explain a bit more please Koblo[/member] ?

I like working with my cards all the time. Anytime I am not working on something else, I am doing something related to the Tarot. Most of my projects get started because of readings. It's just become a part of me. I always have at least one deck with me.

Ditto!  When ever I feel like reading and have the in-interrupted time to do so.

It's based on the law of cause and effect and with spacetime (an expression Albert Einstein came up with to explain how space and time are weaved together).

Let me give an example first about space that I wrote another place about my runes. It goes for tarot as well.

First I had my runes in a grey bag. When I pull the runes from it, I mix them first of course. Because the bag (space) has certain boundaries (the size and fabric), it makes me pull certain runes decided from that. It's not only me who decides what rune is pulled, the size and the "feeling" I get when I put my hand in it, will also be a part of my decision of which rune to pull. It's no coincidence. The color also affects my mood, that eventually will decide when I feel I have mixed enough. It all matters.

For a person that are somehow connected to time (you have appointments, you watch TV or otherwise live in a world that the clock matters), it will also affect which cards you pull, because if you for example have watched TV, the time the program stopped and you turned off the TV, will affect your rhythm and eventually decide which card you will pull.

I'm just saying that if you read (for yourself) and don't get answers you intuitive know are right, there might be right to do an adjustment - either for space or time - or both.

I'm not sure if any of you understand me. I can't explain it better.

I'm sorry. I'm so tired now...
