What would a car accident look like in a tarot reading?

Hi, I was in a car accident a couple of days ago and, of course, I hadn’t rolled the cards beforehand so it came out of the blue.  I thought my foot was firmly on the brake, but I was in a car where the brake and accelerator are almost right upon each other and my foot must have slipped.  In fact I was so sure my foot was on the brake that I couldn’t figure out what was happening.  Long story short, thankfully no one was hurt, but the car’s a mess and needs repairs.

How would a car crash appear in a reading?  The Chariot reversed seems simplistic, no police were involved, it was on private property, a grocery store parking lot at a low speed, so The Hierophant might not be involved (although it is a form of rule breaking...) the most trauma involved was emotional...

And I was just stopping for some milk before returning home from 20 migraine injections to my head, face and neck...

I feel so terrible for having been the cause of an accident.  I wept and wept and wept the first day.

My aim is to understand how this might appear so, in the future, I can hopefully head myself and others off at the pass.

Thanks so much!

Before reading your post and seeing only the title I thought of The Chariot + The Tower.  Do the slip of the foot being a possibility, I think The Fool could be appropriate as his foot is about to step off the path in a way. The grocery store could have been represented by the Empress or one of the Pentacles. In fact, there is probably a wand card that signifies an accident, perhaps the six or eight reversed. If we search any of the cards for a specific thing though, our minds are sure to find some sort of connection in hindsight.

I wouldn't use the Chariot card. Just because there's a chariot on it does not mean it has anything to do with cars. it's more about victory and overcoming obstacles, not unforeseen accidents.

Cards ruled by Mars like the tower destructive change. Cards ruled by Uranus like the wheel of Fortune card sudden change.

in a general sense the major cards should be about how you internally deal with the events. If you are looking for the event itself I would look for minor cards. Minor cards usually carry information about what's happening around us and the major is usually about what happens within us.

Good thing no one was hurt but I would just say the Tower. Or the Ace of Swords could have been a warning of something to come.

Rarehare, don't even go there!  I never had accidents while driving a semi truck but I did kill many animals throughout the years.  You just can't control some things, that's why they are called accidents!  You have to look at it and be thankful you didn't hurt anyone else and no cops!  That is something to be very thankful for!

As for tarot cards?  I agree with Joe about the Tower.  Perhaps a Death card because you will have changes from this, at least for awhile and a Page of Swords for the slipping foot.  Might even want to slip in a Queen of Swords and The Star for good measure.  I'm so glad you're ok and able to be back with us! Prior to a car accident I was on, I actually DID get the Chariot reversed, along with Judgement! Judgement was an interesting one for me though, very personal because it's my Shadow Card, which you generally work through in your Saturn Return, which I was smack in the middle of. As well, I had this "sense of foreshortened future" thing from childhood trauma that led me to believe I wouldn't make it to 28...and the accident was 2 days before that birthday! On top of all that, Judgement was renamed "Life Renewed" in that deck, which was REALLLL on point all things considered!

All in all though, I would be personally very wary of ever predicting a car accident for myself or anyone else! For me, I'm incredible at manifesting things into my life and using the cards to predict things with terrible outcomes doesn't help me to head it off really - it's more likely to direct my energy in that direction and hone in that likelihood. This experience with the cards being so on point with an overt prediction rather than the being only about the spiritual growth way I had actually read the cards in the reading at the time has changed how and when I pull that deck out.

I think part of it comes down to how much you believe that you have control over the circumstances s that the cards show, too. For me, anytime that I've had blatant outcomes shown like this, it's not really in a way that allows very much room for "changing" the outcome. Here, I was going up against something like 20 years of strong belief that I would die young. Had I read the cards as an actual physical accident, I truly believe that it would have still happened despite any changes I made to that journey. I kind of liken it to a train, a nearly unstoppable force once it's set in motion. If my cards are showing me an outcome, it's because I'm heading that way so forcefully that to change my path would be akin to the train jumping the tracks. Sure it's possible, but also highly unlikely.

Plus, any cards that could be read as a car crash could likely also be interpreted as a journey forestalled or interrupted... And if you Knew from the cards That you would be in an accident when you went out of the house... Might you just choose to not go? And thus, make the cards true in another way!

On top of all else everyone else has said that's right on, we're not meant to know everything. The cards sometimes won't show us everything because of that, or it may show something but we won't recognize it because we're not supposed to. We're given to know or to recognize the messages that we're meant to know. That's it. It doesn't do any good to second guess or to think we've missed something we should have seen. Maybe---or maybe not----we may look at the cards afterward and recognize that it was there but we didn't see it, but a whole lot of times, we just won't see it whether before or after because it wasn't meant to be.

I agree, hindsight is 20/20 ;)

Thank you all  <3

Your card suggestions expand my education. Besides, I love this forum.  It feels like you’re surrounded by friends and mentors.  It’ll take more than a car accident to keep me from coming back here ;)

Different cards come up for me trying to predict things each time. Chariot (rx) is a great fit but also could be a flat tyre or running out of fuel. I have seen in my own readings that the 10 of Swords always comes up for me as a "warning" or caution about accidents. It is a card that makes me a little nervous now as it seems to have a special meaning for me as a sign but it comes up and it isn't an accident but it can be. So what others have said, hindsight is key here. If you did get the Chariot (rx) and you were going in a car, just be more careful than normal if you worry about it.

I've found tarot to be incredibly nuanced, a lot of messages with any of the cards, I can only work out after the event and there is no way I could have understand before! Almost like it was on purpose to me.

So very glad you are alright Rarehare  <3

Funnily enough in my daily reading today l had a reversed Chariot card, l never read reversals and am usually very careful to make sure my cards are all upright.  l have read that Chariot reversed can mean incidents with a car.  l decided l would not use my car today, glad l didn't as l just discovered my M.O.T certificate is out of date, that could have meant l may have been picked up on it, then goodness knows what  :bugeyed:

To add: l spoke to my local garage about having the M.O.T. done and the chap came out to take my car in.  He found l needed a new exhaust and it would have failed.  So more money to find. l hope l never find a reversed Chariot again
