Does the Ace of Swords often represent a major illness or trauma?

I had the Ace of Swords fall for a friend and they’re battling a major illness.  I’ve also seen this card combined with the 10 of Swords to represent a fatal or near-fatal illness.

Beside context and intuition, how do you know which meaning the Ace is giving?  When is it illness and when is it razor-sharp intellect and wit?  Or a mastery over illness or a mastery of intellect?

Thanks again so much,

The Ace of Swords is not an obvious negative illness card, unlike the Ten of Swords which is such a blow. The Ace for me is the Sword of Truth, that strong sword that is double edged. It is clarity and truth and also represents potential. The way I would see it here is a revelation, like someone who has symptoms for months and months and are scared about what is going on in their body, they have a diagnosis! That is the truth from this Ace. They know what is going on now! I also it can be a sign to go and see a consultant if someone don't understand their health, this is a card which is linked for example to consultant surgeons (swords suit is linked to surgery), maybe the first appointment to see one (Ace).

I nearly always see this Ace as a truth, things becoming clear, so I would have read it that a truth will be revealed and they will know exactly where they are going next if I was reading for them if I don't know the context or area to link it to. I would only read it as descriptions of a person if it was in a position about a personality or traits. I don't really read for people and about their health, so I would probably have never suggested the Ace is about health, I would have generally said that you are going to find out something and it's going to be quite the revelation with the 10 of Swords. The small positive of the 10 of Swords is the recovery, fighting to get back up after being stabbed in the back and many cards have the sun rising in the background, as if this news is the worst it can get, now it will get better (maybe just having a definite diagnosis is comforting, I don't know).

So for me the meaning here is clarity, this is the truth about your friend's health and the 10 of Swords is bad news and health taking a turn for the worst. In my surgery theme idea, instead of making an appointment with the Ace this is emergency surgery in comparison (the 10 of Swords has a link to back surgery), going up the numerology.

I am sorry for your friend, sending good vibes their way  <3

I often see the Ace of Swords as truth being revealed, clarity, cutting through the muck/difficulties, secrets/the hidden

being unveiled.

I would POSSIBLY see the Ace of Swords being about trauma/illness if it shows up (revealing/find out something, in this case illness/trauma) with other cards that I've seen show up for illness/sickness, etc. such as:

3 of Swords

4 of Swords

10 of Swords

The Sun in reverse

The Star in reverse

These are just my opinions and experiences, of course, and by no means are they meant to be definite, concrete, or chiseled in stone.

I hope this helps in some way.
