It was created in 2012 and financed through Kickstarter. l cannot find this deck anywhere and l so want it. Does anyone here know if it is available, or have any news on what happened with it. Thoughtful Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Yes l see the Decadent Dream has been discussed. l have looked at it but no comparison to the Symbolist Tarot. l have looked on Aeclectic's forum at the card listings for something similar, but no luck. It's such a shame, the paintings chosen for the Symbolist were wonderful.

If he'd just supply the files for backers to print off... I was a BACKER, you see. I am still hopping mad. There is an equally angry thread on AT where the artist showed up with a sob story. The Decadent Dream lady is fine though - SLOW at times, but I have several decks from her, and they all came without issues.

What a shame this turned out to be a scam as this would have been a beautiful tarot. l would have backed it straightaway, luckily l wasn't on any forum in 2012 or l would have been a very upset loser like yourself and many others. l am wary of projects like this but did back the V.Modrone deck as it was lo scarabeo and well trusted. Perhaps another trusted tarot creator could do a deck like this using the same paintings. Would there be copyright issues from using the paintings, and was that an issue with the Symbolist.
gregory Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 The issue was that: if he was telling the truth - he paid the printer in advance and they didn't deliver. (I believed him at first, but since he has been seen on KS often since then, lurking, and hasn't responded to anyone anywhere in ages, I am less convinced than I used to be.) If he wasn't telling the truth - he just kept our money. If he WAS telling the truth - LOADS of us asked him to put the cards up on a POD site and we would pay for them again, kinda - and he could also get money from sales to others. As far as I know, there was no copyright issue.

If he was genuine he could have sorted something out, and kept in touch with everyone via the forum, Facebook etc. With no copyright issues attached to the paintings he used, l can always hope a trusted tarot creator could look at the Kickstarter page of his, which is still up, and produce the deck themselves. It would be a good seller l am sure.

DanielJUK Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 It seems like it was a Facebook "brand" page where all photos and posts are public to all, you can only make a personal facebook account non-public. So everything on there would be public to non Facebook users, so I think you got everything gregory[/member] I went to look just now if I can get anything with my FB account and the page has been deleted now. The link says this it has expired, I presume they have pulled the deck brand page off facebook this morning but it could also be a FB technical fault. Will try again in a few days but looks to me that the links are being deleted about any reference to it :bugeyed:
gregory Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I couldn't get ANYTHING on facebook - as I have no account at all. Pinterest (which I usually hate !) was far more helpful. Oh well. I suppose he will have seen this thread - I think he follows stuff. Let's hope he answers my latest message on KS asking for him to put it up on TGC or similar so that we could BUY it at least. Not responding is so counterproductive if all his story was true. People were totally supportive on KS until he stopped responding.
