Not sure what it would be called, but has anyone found one card that they feel really represents themselves in some way?

Yep, that's a signifier! There's a lot of ways to find them - here are cards associated with zodiac signs, you can calculate your birth cards, your deck may just decide you are a certain card and throw it at you all the time, you might choose the card conciously as representing you, there are even people who'll decide a court card is always someone of a certain gender and age and look!

For me - I'm a Queen of Swords, by choice and by zodiac association. I'm a High Priestess by choice and backed by birth cards. I'm a Star by choice and a Page of Cups sometimes. I went through a period of time where I was described by my decks as a 2 of Wands incessantly. My decks are also currently begging me to embody the Knight of Swords more for goodness sakes Libra take control of your life.  Oh and I really really felt Hermity when I started reading.

I think all of the cards can represent a piece of me, but the ones I resonate most with tend to be these!

libra[/member] That's so interesting. I find myself wanting to delve into signifiers more.

When I first began to read tarot, I always used one of the queen cards to be 'me'.  But as I was also getting readings by others, (both free readings and readings in a shop that I payed for), I'd show up mostly as the High Priestess or sometimes other cards, depending on what I was feeling at the time.  It always seemed to make sense really.  However, I must admit, I really, really LOVE being the HP.  8)

Queen of Swords for me, particularly the 1st Ed Bohemian Gothic Queen of Swords. It's why I don't get on with the 2nd Ed!

Queen of Pentacles here!

With that said...the Queen of Swords has her sway with me too!

I use Queen of Cups for a Significator because of my astro sign. It doesn't matter to me that it's a female court and I'm a male. Numerologically I have a match with III. Empress, IV. Emperor, and I. Magician but I don't like taking a Major out of a reading to use it as a signifier.

I feel a strong pull towards the King of Cups, though funnily enough I had a reading recently telling me I will be stuck as a Page of Cups instead until I can move on from some childish ideals that tend to bring ruin to my relationships.

Astrologically, however, I'm a Taurus so The Empress has always captivated me.

We change a lot as humans and so I think if we choose a significator to represent us, we have to be open to it changing, at this stage of our lives we are this and at this stage we are this. People used to always read with a significator representing a person or themselves but these days it has fallen out of fashion. As well as a person card you read for / with, you can choose a topic, so say you wanted to know about a romance coming your way, you could pick the Lovers or 2 of Cups, just as an example. I think it's fallen out of fashion because people don't like taking the cards out of their decks :)

If you want to choose a card to represent you, these are the traditional ways to do it and it was traditionally a Court Card you picked....

- Which Card most represents your personality / characteristics?

- Which Card most represents how you look? (this used to be a really popular way of doing it and is frequently described in old tarot books, for example this Queen is older and blonder, this Queen is darker, but the descriptions historically leave out anyone but white complexions  :)) ).

- Astrologically, here is a list of the Courts and their zodiac sign, just pick your birth sign.

The Court Cards are not fixed in their gender, any court card can represent any person, Queens are just different to Kings in their characteristics. Also these days some people pick any card from the deck as representing them, not just Courts. If you want to represent yourself, just make it how you want, there are no strong rules here :)
