Guest Night Shade Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Hello everyone Does anyone know of any good spreads to help you deal with minor depression. Not anything major, just for when you're feeling a little down in the dumps. Thank you.
stephanelli Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Hiya Night Shade[/member] One of the spreads I use often when I'm feeling a bit down is Biddy Tarot's Release and Let Go spread. I find it helps me to understand where my feelings are coming from and how I can try and get back up again. https://www.biddytarot.com/release-and-let-go-tarot-spread/
Thoughtful Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 If l am down which l have been recently due to my dog Bonny passing, l just hold my cards and ask them to give me some comfort. Then l lay out maybe 4 to 5 cards in a row. l use my Roots of Asia for this and they have been incredibly loving and helpful. l feel the use of the right deck is paramount when you are feeling like this, more so than actually using a defined spread.

I'm so sorry about Bonny Thoughtful[/member] - I hope the cards are giving you the comfort that you need. <3 (( This is a great idea - I didn't really think about the choice of deck, I was just focused on a spread.
Saturn Celeste Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 If l am down which l have been recently due to my dog Bonny passing, I'm sorry for your dog, Thoughtful. We just lost one of our feral cats from outside, yesterday. She wasn't quite 2. We had her spade and all but they were just too wild to come into the house. We've been really bummed. l just hold my cards and ask them to give me some comfort. Then l lay out maybe 4 to 5 cards in a row. l use my Roots of Asia for this and they have been incredibly loving and helpful. I never read for myself but this might be something I might try later on. I'll use 3 cards though. l feel the use of the right deck is paramount when you are feeling like this, more so than actually using a defined spread. Absolutely! The deck can make all the difference. I have a new deck, the Cat Tarot. Should be purrfect! :kitty:

I have made sure that my collection includes decks for every type of readings that I like to do. Gentle decks are definitely a thing. So are the fun and playful ones too!
Guest Night Shade Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Thank you Saturn Celeste[/member] and Raggydoll[/member] . I don't know why the choice of deck didn't occur to me - frankly, I sometimes just grab the deck that's closest at hand, no matter what type of reading I'm doing. I'm so sorry about your cat, Saturn Celeste[/member] . I used to take care of feral cats too, and I know that even though you don't technically own them, they're still part of your family, and you love them just as much. :kitty:
DanielJUK Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I keep meaning to say Thoughtful[/member] I saw somewhere about Bonny, I am so sorry for your loss! sending <3 all my love :heartz: As someone also with an older dog who is a worry :'( Night Shade[/member] sending you <3 These are spreads from my bookmarks (that is sorta embarrassing ;D but I don't care!) when I am feeling down, really depressed or anxious, just for a perk up.... Light at the end of the Tunnel Spread - this is a big deep spread, 6 cards for the simple version and 9 for the more complex version, this spread has been amazing to give me some light ahead, it's a big spread for me at times in my life. I think it's healing because it gives you something to look forwards to. Guiding Light Spread - for times when you don't feel yourself - this is another big spread, 11 cards but it gives you advice to go forwards They are quite a lot of work those spreads but so rewarding, you can reduce them or just do a part of them if you want to make it your own :) 3 Carder Spread for Anxiety - This spread was intended for anxiety but you can use this depression or almost anything! I was once depressed and did it every single day! It's simple but brings hope to your day. Here it is.... 1) What can I do more of - what thoughts or actions could I amplify to help myself? 2) What could I do less of - what isn't helping me or is making things worse? 3) What could I try out - what new element could I add to my handling of the situation? Chiriku's All Shall Be Well: a spread for Comfort You don't need to be religious for this spread but it's based on writings from Dame Julian of Norwich and is a great spread.... All Shall Be Well: a spread for Comfort ******************1 *****************2 ************************ ************************* 3 ***************************** 1- All Shall Be Well--what is something I should know, that will give me comfort right now? 2- And All Manner of Thing Shall Be Well--what will be set to right in my tumultuous world? 3- A Wish for Rest and Peace--what will "enclose me in rest and peace" in future trying times? I collect these spreads for myself so wanted to share some of my faves! <3

I especially like the Guiding Light spread, because I haven't been feeling like myself lately, and it looks like it offers a lot of inspiration and hope. I will definitely try these out - thank you again! <3 ((
