I joined because it’s so great with a place where it’s possible to indulge in our shared passion for the tarot! I found the forum a while ago through browsing, and when I stumbled upon the kickstarter campaign too, I felt it was as good a time as any to chip in some dollars and sign up here.

 

I do readings for myself, and sometimes for family for fun. Not a beginner, but also not a skilled practitioner. It’s been a few decades since my first real tarot deck, but I haven’t spent every week, month or even year since then pre-occupied with the tarot. Periodically, I’ve lost interest, but every time it’s come back stronger than before. So it’s difficult to say how much time I’ve spent with it... the love of the tarot the way it is today, grew forth in me organically, as if under the waxing and waning of the moon, rather than in a more organized manner. It’s just how it happened, and looking back this passion that I feel for the tarot today, sort of slowly sneaked up on me. I can’t explain it any better than that.

 

I’m mainly an RW system reader, but only because I’m a bit lazy, as the Marseille demands a bit more. I’ve got a few oracles as well. I’m a female born in the seventies, and was a bit fascinated by playing cards in childhood, found my first oracle deck in a magazine for younger teens, and in my upper teens I frequented a New Age store where I bought my first tarot deck: Tarot of the Cat People. It didn’t speak with me at all, and some years later I traded it for a talkative marseille. Then came some years where I was only into oracle decks. Not sure when that changed, I think maybe it was when I picked up the Wildwood and it went from there, but nowadays I’m primarily into tarot decks, and I’ve got quite a few that I love.

I just now read your thread on the happy stories around the world. The cat story is so endearing and the cat in it looks so much like one of the cats in our family, personality wise as well, as it seems. His presence in our lives made us so much richer. So I’m extra glad of that story, it warms my heart (where his memory is), now it’s Easter and all...

 

This community seems an amazing place, and I’m very grateful that I could join. :heartz:
